The Red Planet

by zenat
Captain and crew of the airship the Airbitch intercept a German zeppelin for the loot, only to find that it was far more than they bargained for.

A Space 1889 fancomic, but requiring no previous knowledge of the games other than that it takes place in 1889 and on Mars.

Updates the 4th, 14th and 24th.

Well... yes. If/when the project continues, you'll see the update here.

The 10 page filler comic is suitably named 'Substitute' XD
Picture drawn in Angouleme, and the proportions were all over the place. Tried to fix it digitally, but yeah.

'Jag älskar dig' means 'I love you' in Swedish.
And... that's the end of that.

This was published in Swedish Comic Sin 2 last year, but... yeah. Alternative universe/possible future, as Jerker and Claire are not actually married yet.
Some pleas for survival are more convincing than others, I suppose.
Skrills. And Ryan, the not very German cook.

Uh yeah... that was totally what I was going to say. Thanks.

Nam'net... is big, even by Martian standards.

No comic today, sorry.

I was in Angouleme, France, for a comic festival and simply didn’t have the time. Here are some Red Planet drawings I did while I was there though, to practice a pen that I bought. Rather messy, but I like the feel of it.

So here's Claire, Jerker's sweetheart. Yep.

Jerker Fjällbäck: 0
Fritz von Tinkle: 1

Apparently I forgot to upload it here. Ahem. Fixed.

Introducing Elin Silverbåge, cousin of Jerker and significantly less affected by the "sucking in front of crew" curse.

Jerker... talks too much.

And a big thank you to David ( http://cannibalcoffee.blogspot.com/ ) who gave me tips about fencing (though evidently I don't remember all of it).

Meet captain Fritz von Tinkle.

And a merry Christmas, etc etc.

Poor Randolf the Random. Shouldn't have worn a red shirt, is what I'm saying.

Cloud Captains of Mars is a book that belongs with the Space 1889 roleplaying game, which world this comic is based upon.

And that creature is called a gashant.

Normally not a fan of sound effects, but it looked rather silent there...

And now in greyscale. There will be the occassional colored page, but greyscale will be the standard – it's tons faster and I'm juggling two comics at once, in addition to everything else.

Jerker, as you may have guessed from his name, is not a native English speaker, but actually Swedish. Jerker is a perfectly normal name in Sweden, and does not mean what you think it means (nor is it pronounced the same way).

"Men för helvete!" – essentially "for fuck’s sake!" though somewhat milder. Swedish cursing tend to be milder than English, unless you get creative.
