Between Light and Dark

by IneMiSol
The adventures of 13 friends as evil turns against them. (Or they go looking for trouble, that's more like it!)
Fantasy and adventure webcomic with some humor and romance in the middle.

Updates whenever I have pages to show,,;;
Warning: Use of strong language and alcohol by some characters. Mild violence in some parts. Blood and not-so-mild violence by the middle/end of chapters 1 and 3. Occasional sexual innuendos. Some of the small chapters between the four big ones include backstories that might shock easily impressed people. (use of drugs and alcohol, self-harm, terminal diseases, blood)

There are also short comics here -> http://bldshortcomics.smackjeeves.com
It is not mandatory to read those to know important things in this, but some strips are intended to be connected to the story!

A WILD UPDATE APPEARED

Ok since it's more than obvious I can't stick to a schedule anymore, here's how updates are gonna work from now on:
- I will update a batch of pages as soon as I have it done, instead of 1 by 1
- Updates will no longer be different on each website; deviantart, smackjeeves and tapastic now all get the same updates, at the same time

@Lynn: Would you kindly just shut your trap along with your sister? I've a severe social anxiety and a ton of other mental issues (probably shouldn't confess, haha), but SOMEHOW I manage not to be offended by this comic. See? It's not that difficult. Pretty sure it's much easier than being a-holes and wasting precious time writing nonsense no one's gonna like you for. :/
Not sorry if I sound offensive. Not a bit.

@John Doe: To be honest, I'm finding this extremely amusing as well - hell, I've been laughing my ass off at all this!
But I think that after things have died down I'm gonna delete all these comments. Kinda want to keep this clean too, even if the drama is hilarious. :V

@IneMiSol: With the way that things are being replied to, it's no wonder really.

Don't mind me though. I'm just passing by and happen to find this all very amusing.

@Lynn: I don't know if you noticed but, she tried to move him on one panel. one. the second she acknowledged he was hurt and on the third one she told him she was going to get help. If she can't move him, or leave him to get help, what was her supposed to do? Stay there until he died in her arms, knowing there were a way to save him? I would probably put him on my back and walk to get help. Then again I'd be moving him.

Yes people start reading from the first pages. People also need to realize that this comic has been going for years, and, if said person has a 3 finger wide forehead, they would get to the conclusion that, since she was a kid writing this, there would be some stuff that would be off, but it's kinda late to point it out, since she's improved, specially her vision on things.

If your sister is only 13 years old, I'd suggest you try to get her to read comics that are more appropriate for her. If the comic has things that trigger her, better not read it don't you think? There are many webcomics with different content, you have to learn to choose them. If you start reading one and come across triggering content, you close the tab and go find another one.

And lol, I wasn't playing dirty with the age excuse, it was just to show you how young people can\tend to write things immaturely because, well they are young, and life experiences are different for everyone.

I wasn't as aggressive as I'd be, believe me. And if you think of me as a "white knight", you're wrong. If there's things that are wrong or offensive that Inemisol writes, not realizing it, I'd be the first to point it out, as I did 5 minutes ago.

@Lynn: "The mental health community" Wow, that makes you sound SO mature and knowing.
Excuse me, but are you invalidating what I have just because I have different views from you? Because if you are, I'm sorry, but you're only making a fool of yourself.

It was light-hearted humor done by a 14-year-old. Done wrongly, I admit, but still, immature humor. Wasn't trying to offend anyone. Do you really think that back then I even thought of these things? Of course not. Do you think I still make this kind of jokes nowadays? No, I don't. I'm older and wiser now. But I don't get all offended and whiny when someone picks on my faults. I laugh it off, because I know it's true.

@Lynn:
It kind of feels like you and your sister have taken it upon yourselves to start a crusade about getting justice and validation for people with mental illnesses, if I didn't misinterpret your words. While I'd like to believe that your intentions are for the better good, you need to work on some things:
1. Get off, and stay off my friend's comic. I know people like you two; you'll be eagerly watching the fire you've built and checking who it burns and obsessing over your next reply even though you said you'd both leave.
2. You obviously cannot do this "crusade" thing by yourselves. To think that is kind of holier-than-thou and will make even people who do agree with you, uncomfortable with sharing the same views as you do.
3. Following down from 2, your tone is super double edged as well. You're pushing lots of people under a street full of overspeeding buses by claiming to represent the whole mental health community. You're just going to make people doubt whether us mentally ill people really do need validation.
4. Sometimes poking fun at "serious issues" is a way of coping. Ine here is just doing this webcomic on her own will, her own time, for her own recreation. Besides, some mentally ill people DON'T want to be called "serious issues", they want to be everyday normal. Saying we're serious issues is kind of invalidating everything we've been through. Not to mention it's ableist.
5. If you really really wanted to spread the destruction of the stigma of mental illness, you could have found something bigger that's even more problematic. Get a better audience for your speeches, don't bully small indie authors/artists.
6. Your words are so double bladed. People might have actually wanted to agree with you but, like, you made it really uncomfortable for them to do so with your enigmatic tone.

I'm just going to end this here, before I say something that'll *gasp* make you both pounce again. Your thoughts are for a good cause, but with things like these you should think it thoroughly where you present and how you present your views.

Okay sorry, but I'm super offended by this. It's not Jess using me as a mouthpiece, but... First off, it's common sense that you shouldn't move an injured person or leave them. Second, did you really want us to start from the most current pages? Odds are, people normally start from the first chapters, and you can't stop them from commenting. Jess was being a dick, but why do you tell her to "blow a goat"? That's fighting fire with fire, and it doesn't look good on anyone.
There's bigger shit for me to worry about yes, and one of those is how big the webcomic industry is getting. There's no way to control what content goes flying around and there's no way to stop people from criticizing anything. If there's something troublesome, people will speak. And for me and Jess that'll be the stigma of mental illness.
Don't be so aggressive, after all...if we're playing the age excuse, my sister is only 13. But naw, we're not gonna play that dirty.
