Umma sounds like mom in Korean. This comic is fascinating.
Wheeeu! Super excited for the second chapter ^____^

@Maaria: If they would have windmills or buffalos, this would be the animal's name :')

@alkimohap: I thought your nick sounded familiar :) Hello! I was very happy about the review! And it was quite positive, even.
Yeah, when I drew Vulsu with Muura, I was actually really, really unsure about my skills and felt really awkward and didn't do a very good job.
It's probably all because of Muura that I gained enough courage to try and finish something on my own (this project right here).
We've been planning to scan the second part, of Vulsu but... life happened. We will definately do it, though. The next issues are made on A4 size, too so I don't think the quality will rise before we start with a new sketch book. It's also made on the fly (sometimes on a bus or a train) and that's the magic for us.
How seriously we will take it in the future will depend on many things, but I personally feel like I've become better and can do better. Muura's always been a natural talent.

Röik is supposed to become a little self-published comic book, so ALL the lettering will be replaced. I just struggle with it so much that I haven't figured out how, yet.
I'm actually really glad this is even readable :')

@alkimohap: Ooh, I liked Gon very much :3 ..and in fact pondered if I should've made the first 30 or so pages textless just like whole Gon was, but decided it would not work with my style of storytelling.

@alkimohap: I've drawn this on A3 size pages, so seems like my plan is working :3

@alkimohap: Those beard-tentacle-thingys (oh god they need a proper name rofl) will be explained in the future.
You'll just have to wait quite a long time, though as I need to introduce one "sister specie" to explain it the best. So yes indeed I have quite detailed description of the tissue in mind hah 8I

It's kinda annoying - I'd like to explain so much and just.. indulge into the biology, but this is a story, not a documentary. So the characters have to discover the facts themselves.

Yup, Muura suggested I'd take a look at this comic. You might know I'm the guy that wrote a small review about Vulsumophilia. Interesting work is this, imaginative and detailedly and adorably drawn at best. If you and Muura continue also Vulsumophilia at some point, It would be blasting to have it in this graphical detail. (As I said, if this was printed on A5 size, the details would get all muddy.)

Maybe you should spend more time doing the lettering? I can easily read it, but I guess more uniform characters would bring more power to the narration.

@alkimohap: The last panel confuses quite many people. I wonder if I need to change it :0

@December: It's not such a good hunter, so.. it annoys others untill they give food lol. Good strategy?

Those joyful animals are somehow reminiscent of Masashi Tanaka's manga "Gon".

"I got all squashed!" says Röik, but it just looks maniacly happy, like having enjoyed it. Gross.

Very nasty indeed. Behind those claws are not just a mouth, but two EYES that stare you when you are being eaten.

Oh no, the panels 6 and 7. TOO CUTE I MUST EXPLODE!

By the way, if you ever think of printing this, it must be done in A4 size because of the details. That's my opinion.

This reminds me of Franquin's Marsupilami comic "Le Pollen du Monte Urticando" (Monte Urticandon siitepöly suomeksi). There was a snake called Imalipusram living a desert. Its defense mechanism was to inflate its tail so that the tail resembles an angry marsupilami in a figting stance, and thus repels all enemies of the snake.

I believe you have in your mind a detailed anatomic description of the tissues and nerves of that tongue. ;)

The typical day of odd wild creatures in forest environment. Nice down-pointing camera in the 2nd last panel. I took me a couple of minutes to understand that in the last panel, the little dragon is excited about those fruits. It distracted me first, because it is drawn with lighter line than the average panels on this page, I first thought this was just a fast zoom-in with details blurred, and then something totally random is going to happen.
