inspiration, music, process
it's a secret, but this comic is very loosely inspired by a song! (what a suprise coming from me IU;;; )

a lot of my comics are inspired by a song, or a whole album. i often use this tecnique for developing stories; listen to a song that particularly inspires you- develop an idea/concept/image based entirely on what you feel from that song. it doesn't have to relate to the song in any way, it's more of a conceptual/intuitional thing- which i think is a good thing to remember. trying to link closely to a song unless it completely feels right for you to do so i feel can strop the creative process so abruptly!

the finished comic here isn't really what i first had in mind when i heard the song, but dribs and brabs of the imagary i personally felt when listening to it =)

this is something I learned to do in university, in a workshop for developing short comics- i am so incredibly thankful for this process being taught- i just thibnk it's such a good teqnique for coming up with ideas when inspiration is dry...I talk about it here because I totally encourage everyone to do this!!!! ='DD

ps. the song is 'Tiger mountain peasant song' by fleet foxes :) whatta beautiful song <3

Through a few pages I found a lot of comfort in this, which is strange to say. The drawing style is so adorable and fitting I feel like i'm reading a children's book. I like how there isn't color because the greyscale is very fitting. The idea is already unique and very cute. This is super adorable and I'll keep looking for the updates. :)
