October 20th

Everything is falling apart.

After a decade of fighting the curse that has befallen them, Catherine and Raimundo have their backs to the wall. The last of their allies have been claimed by the monster that comes for them on October the 20th, and now, they may face the horror alone, isolated on the Icelandic tundra.

Can they survive the day? Can they find a way to go on, even if they lose everything? And can they find the man called Shields McKloskey, who seems to hold all the answers?

@Xylas_Incarnum: I'm making an effort to make the transition as smooth as possible. You will be able to find the new main site by coming to october20comic.com. And the SJ site will keep updating, though probably a page behind.
@Delta-v: Getting in suggests that I'm not a drunk monkey flinging random lines on pieces of paper.

It suggests that I'm a drunk monkey who managed to stumble upon a compelling story people want to see through to the end. I'll take it!
Next stop... Hollywood!
Time to update my bookmarks I guess.
Hey, congratulations! I know That Spiderforest isn't easy to get into, so it's a real feather in your cap to do so. :)
You've probably noticed the lack of activity the recent weeks. This stems from a couple of circumstances, none of which are bad. But I should let on what's actually going on with the comic, going forward. A little while ago, October 20 got accepted into the Spiderforest collective. For those of you wondering, Spiderforest is a webcomic host and community, that accepts new members through a bi-annual voting process, and we got accepted in our second attempt.

What this means means, is change. But in this case, good change. It means we're moving to a new website at a new host, and no thanks to me, the new website will look fantastic. It does mean a delay in updates for a little while, while we get everything in order. It could be days, it could be a week or two, but when we got everything in order, we'll have a new home. For those of you coming through the october20comic.com domain, nothing will change. It will still be the adress for the main page. For those of you coming through smackjeeves, I will still update this page, but it will be found at a different adress. I'll come back to that later.

So that's it. Good things are afoot, but it does involve a bit of a delay. To apoogize, here are the first of a couple of pin up cards I'm doing. If figured it was most fitting to start with the two sexiest characters in the Oct20 universe.

You're welcome.
I'm guessing best 2 out of three won't be an option. Poor Rai, he had a good run.
Séreméla was very satisfied with how this page turned out. We are glad you enjoyed it. Believe me, playing Jenga is a curse!
Today's page takes the fight to it's natural next phase. Bet you weren't expecting the curse to be an annual battle of jenga?

On this day, you should maybe check out M9 Girls. Our friends from over there supplied us with today's page. It made me grin when I saw it.

Normal service resumes this monday.
@RedClause: I agree completely. It's already going to kill you, no reason not to piss it off further.

In Panel 6, is that shadow, or was Rai THAT frightened?

The monster does look oddly ..... Terminatorish. O.o
I dig the Grievious reference, ha ha.

Well, Rai is certainly in his element as long as he can run and jump. We know the monster is relentless but we don't know how fat it is. Have the monster got an upgrade since Ansgar faced it?

Man, General Grievous hasn't aged well at all.

But in all seriousness, of all the things I imagined this...thing...to look like, I don't think I ever expected this. I thought it would look entirely supernatural, but instead we get something oddly modern. Fascinating...

And it's nice to see the graffiti around these parts keepin' it classy. Kultur!
... Well, that's just lovely... Big bad seems to be some sorta ancient cyborge because that does not look like a skeleton to me... or is it just wearing some kinda suit... ah whatever first time we've actually seen this thing.
No, no crowded areas. Cops = bystanders. Wait for the bad guy to jump at you and jump elsewhere. You've had more experience at this, Rai, unlike sheer killing, where it has the advantage. Sight distance and terrain are your friends, lactic acid buildup, your enemy.

Oh brother. Oh man. Oh Rai, run like you've never run before. That thing's got a blade for one hand, so, maybe it can't climb so well?
Panel 6, dude (not "dud," like I accidentally typed before. Stupid Alzheimer's). Rai's expression, body language, that angle, and the coloring. Wow.
Seriously, Rai, head for a crowded area. Preferably one filled with cops.

Your cameos are always so seamlessly worked in! And the translation is much-appreciated for this monolingual pleb over here.

@hipopotamo: I doubt they are in any serious danger.
