Here I am finally back to checking on SJ updates, and yet it's only been one update here //caresses screen longingly

Ah well we're all here. XD It's alright.

Also weapon looks BOSS yo
@Geniusguy445: Seems that way.

Crap guys, sorry for the further delays. I've been having some emotional troubles, and struggling to actually draw something I'll actually be happy with, but everything lately's been just feeling sort of... underwhelming.

I'll see if I can get something up by the end of this week though. Whether it be Power Rush, or one of my other projects.

Look! I updated! MWAHAHAHA! A prank upon you all! You thought I had bailed on it!

Er... anyway... I suppose some of you may have already caught the twist to begin with. More to come, if I can keep a schedule. I'm hoping Wednesdays to start with, then I'll start releasing this angsty short story I've started so I can loosen up a little, and eventually whittle down my perfectionism and complete the first chapter of a comedy fantasy, so I can update that all at once.

There's a lot I really really really want to share with you guys, and if I can just get over my stress over being a terrible artist, maybe I can actually do them, and in getting the practice, become a better artist. But really it's only for the sake of the stories themselves. (Even if I did already kind of bork this up. Milo should be less like Charlie Brown and more like Scott Pilgrim.)

Anyway, I'll do my best to see you guys next Wednesday. NOT EVEN a joke.

EDIT: Crap. Note to self: Fix the shading on Petey's shirt in Panel 3. The lack of eyes and mouth are intentional, but make up some excuse as to why it is that doesn't include "I kept screwing his face up."

@Geniusguy445: Not yet, thankfully, just very very easily distracted.

@arkcine: Yeahhh, sorry, I even meant to start updating more and just... things go nuts.

@kuroi_hitsuji: What would you be willing to help out with? I have a million ideas. Or just this one since I'm so slow to update. I suppose it'd be good to finish off this chapter though... ggghhhhh...

I'll try and work on the new page tonight, I'm feeling bored and I'm finally having a Saturday where I've escaped from going out and doing stuff with people.

Well you know I'm always willing to help out with your work :)) <3

Also I know that feel, like there was one time I drew two characters and it sorta just cut that they were in an elevator. However seeing as I didn't show them getting into it, and the background was just a wall, I ended up making this little thing like the "Rated M for violence" box labels and said "! They are in an elevator"

and just chalked it up to humor.

YES. Timing of your update yo. Timing.

good to hear from you!

@Xiam: Hey look! He's not dead!

Hey look! I'm not dead! And I have a page for you all!

I intended to post this Monday (with the intention of doing pages Wednesday and Friday as well) but this one sort of stumped me a bit.

For one, I'm so familiar with comic strip type stuff that I still haven't quite gotten the hang of foreshortening (as evidenced in Panel 2, bottom left). For another, paneling was difficult due to the size of the actions required and the unwillingness to be frickin' boring in an action scene.

For yet another, I couldn't frickin' figure out how to depict Peter dodging and disappearing from sight in a manga-esque and understandable way that doesn't look like garbage. Do I do DBZ-esque lines? No, that requires animation, it would get lost in the speed lines, and people might think he burned to death. Do I do an arrow pointing out that he's missing? No, too on the nose and it implies my readers are stupid.

However... it CAN be pretty funny...

Chalk it up more to my laziness and a shoddy attempt at humor than me thinking poorly on you guys.

I've chattered too much, so I'll just be quick: My absence has led to new ideas flowing in. I still wnat to continue this when I can, though the ADHD is making it difficult because everything else is looking so much more appealing and this was always intended to be a longrunner which I don't know if I can work with.

I sort-of-maybe have someone with whom I might collaborate on a project, and I've got one project I'm doing myself if I can ever rip myself away from video games to finish the first chapter (because I want to release in full chapters), but I'm thinking of maybe doing other collaborations if I can find artists I'd be willing to trust with my babies, since my art style doesn't always lend itself to works as I'm finding out in this series.

Speaking of this series and artists... y'know... if you want...

I check in on you comic from time to time because I love your work. I did think about you but didn't want to be a bother because I figured you were busy or just could do it any more either way I was still around....just far apart really
June 28th, 2014
It's cool. So I'm just dropping by because I forgot to say a few days ago I had this dream and YOU WERE THERE. Like obviously not you-you cuz I don't even know what you look like

but Idk there was some kind of convention and then I was meeting you cuz like your series was a success and idk I think one of them (Mel and Mac I think) became an animated series so yeah haha

thought I'd share. //derps away once again
June 19th, 2014
@kuroi_hitsuji: Yeah, sorry! I've also been busy.

@arkcine: Nah, I'm alright! Really tired, but alright.

@Geniusguy445: Aw, thanks. But I do feel like I owe it to the series to keep up a sort of style for it.

It's frustrating, because I was looking forward to this last panel the most, and it was the one that gave me the most trouble.

It's good to see you folks are still around though! I'll definitely try and get the next page as soon as possible.

@Xiam: Anyone who reads this reads it for the author, not necessarily the art style. We love what you do, and how you do it. Plot and characters > graphics.

I say change it up if that makes it easier to do.
June 13th, 2014
thank god your alive! we thought that something horrible happened like a grizzly bear attack! Kidding, but we missed you.
June 13th, 2014
I was starting to wonder where you were but like I couldn't place it.

Like "The number of updates I check has decreased"

I thought it was cuz I got busy, I've been trying to work on my comic since it's on reboot, and I was imagining things.

Then I saw Power Rush and I was like "WHERE THE HELL HAS HE BEEN ANYWAY?"

so yes.

@Mandabear: Yeah... I guess...
June 12th, 2014
Yeah honestly, I thought you would be further along too, but hey shit happens, right? :P Besides a break is good once in awhile.
June 11th, 2014
@Mandabear: Yeah... I really like having a completed series, for others to view. But on the other hand, I always look back wishing I'd done more with it.

Which is why I'm being super particular with the other series I'm working on, haha. I want it to be just right before I even post the first chapter.

I don't know if it's drawing them so much that's the problem, though. I drew Death and Melody so much that they just came naturally every time I tried to doodle anything. They were incredibly fun.

But this just sort of clashes with the way I generally do art... I mean, it's good to branch out, but it's not very comfortable, you know? I have to keep looking back to remember how to draw them. Like I did with some of the minor characters in Mel&Mac. Or Gary the Alchemist.

I also expected to be a LOT farther along than this by now. Ugh...

I feel every artist feels the same. After redrawing the same characters so often they get boring. Didn't Van Gogh say something to the extent of - 'if you work on the same painting for too long, you'll hate it' lol. I totally feel that way sometimes, but in the long run it pays off to have your story, your creation in full documented for others to enjoy. :) Keep up the good work.
