The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal

by bigbigtruck
NOTE: THIS IS A BACKUP. If you'd like to read this comic, please do so at tjandamal.com. The content management system I use at tjandamal.com is no longer supported, so the main site will point over here eventually.

May 16, 2008 - In the span of a single day, Amal calls off his arranged marriage, comes out to his conservative parents, promptly gets disowned, goes on a bender... and wakes up the next morning to find TJ, a lanky, dreadlocked vagrant, frying eggs and singing Paul Simon in his kitchen.

TJ claims that the two have made a drunken pact to drive all the way from Berkeley to Providence. As it happens, Amal promised his sister he'd be there for her graduation from Brown University. And TJ, well... TJ has his own reasons.

The agreement is simple: Amal does the driving; TJ pays the way - but a 3500 mile journey leaves plenty of time for things to get complicated.

This broke me into pieces
Good things do come to an end...
I stumbled upon this website on a sleepless night. And I read the entire content. Boy, what a journey it has been. Some of the scenes depicted were just too real and heart-felt. Its 2019 and affairs of the heart still remain the same. How I wish I got to see how Amal talk to his parents and handle that dreaded moment. How TJ seeks a permanent place in Amal’s life and how their love blossomed. Really really depressing to see my emotional “roller-coaster” feelings cme to an end. Good things never last long eh... :(
damn..
The story’s gonna end?! No man.... Its 2019 by the way. Its about 4.31am in Singapore. Here I am... reading this story from the first page till here... Relating many moments in this story to my life... haiz...
gasp
...tries not to cry...
Oh
Oh, typical of an orthodox Indian family. Haiz... All will be normal?
Whoa
I just binged this entire comic in a day... and while I was reading this page, I was listening to Don't Stop Believing, and now...

Best... comic... EVER!!
@Guest: Seconded
Uh...yummy...
Okay, I know this posting is just for storage...
...but I'm a newcomer to this comic led here by recommendation to the site that no longer supports the images. So as a first-timer, I have two things to say:

1. This series is absolutely adorable and I'm loving it more and more with each page.

2. My reaction to Amal was pretty much the same as TJ's XD
tj is so much taller than everyone xD
how tall is he?
"NutSmugglers" XD
These idiots
God, no. ;^; Why would you do this to me.
Oh god, hold his hand. ;^;
OH GOD NO MY HEART;
@Zathura: God, I know the feeling.
Damn, that look is so intense and full of BAM! Like a lightning.
I'm dying. This too cute.
Ouch. ;^; My heart can't take it.
