The Dreaming

by queeniechan
'The Dreaming' is a 3-volume mystery-horror series, published by TOKYOPOP from 2004-2007. It's written and drawn by me, and the story is about Amber and Jeanie, a pair of twin sisters who arrive at a mysterious boarding school deep in the Australian bush. Soon after, they start having strange dreams, and discover that there is a long history of students disappearing from the school, covered up by the vice-principal of the school. Just what is the vice-principal hiding? And can they unravel the mystery of 'The Dreaming' in time?

IMPORTANT: I will be uploading half a chapter every Friday, but will only be uploading 2 volumes out of 3. If you want to finish reading the story, please purchase the third book (from the links on the bottom of each page.)

@Nitro: Haha, you'll have to buy the third book to see how it ends. :) That's what cliffhangers are for~
OOOOOH WHAT A CLIFFHANGER OMGGGG
Hi all! As I've said before, there are 3 volumes of "The Dreaming", and I'm only posting 2 up. If you want to buy volume 3, you can purchase them from the links I've given above. I suggest the "Collected Edition", because it's cheaper than buying all 3 volumes separately, and also because it has notes and a short story at the back.

I've also got new stories up on SmackJeeves! To see them, please see my author profile page:

You can also click on my author icon to access my author page!
@Guest: No, but then most people would assume off the bat that they are. They look identical, is in the same grade and the same age, and are sisters, so... most people in the story already DID make that assumption.
@Nitro: Me too. :) Hence, I make a joke out of it! XD
..... OOOOH
I DON'T RWMEMBER EITHER OF THEM(the sisters) SAYING THEY WERE TWIN OOOOOH
Haha, this forgetfulness is my exact same problem when it comes to names
Hey all! Next week will be the last update for "The Dreaming" - the story is over, so if you want to read the last volume (vol3), you can purchase the books from the links I've provided.

I'll be posting some short ghost stories up (half of them, all in comics-prose form) next week, and I'll be starting my next story "Fabled Kingdom" in November! :D
Arrgh, my internet connection has been spotty all week, so I can only upload 1/3 of the chapter this week! 2 more weeks before the end of book 2 of "The Dreaming"!
@msbex: Haha, thanks. :) I love ending on cliffhangers~
I've been doing some colour art on my tablet lately, and moreso, toning the first 80 pages or so of my next story. The tablet is really a great help... I won't be showing my next work until November (and I gotta go job hunting too), but things are shaping up to be real good!
@RobinTheGrey: I'm glad you hate plagiarism and stands up for that. :)
PHEW
@queeniechan: Okay, I was just wondering. I hate plagiarism.
@RobinTheGrey: Hi there. "The Dreaming" IS a published book, and created/written/illustrated by me. I have permission from the publishers (TOKYOPOP) to put the first two volumes online, so people can buy vol3 (or the collected edition) if they like the story. :)

So, no. There's no copyright infringement going on (at least, not when the original creator and publisher are involved.). :D Still, thanks for picking that up and asking about it. I've had my work pirated before by other people, and it makes me glad that people DO take notice and speak up when they see something like this. :)
Copyright?
Was this made into a book? because i always remember seeing it at the library in my school, so i didn't know if the publishers simply liked the idea or if there was some plagiarism going on...
Ugh, I've had an awful week this week. I was sick for most of it, and is still sick. There's some personal stuff that's happening in my life, but don't worry - I won't even give up writing/drawing! *pumps fist* I gotta sort myself out, which I hope to slowly do in the next few weeks. Also, I'm reading through the last bits of "Short Ghost Stories". I'm gonna make 1st August for sure!
Well, there's only 5 more weeks until "The Dreaming" v2 is over, and I get to post half of my "Short Ghost Stories" collection! Also, I got the copy-edits back a 2 days ago, and miraculously, there were only minor grammar issues (and a few minor story tweaks)! I was really worried about that, but now I'm more confident. The editor was also nice enough to say that she really enjoyed the stories. I'll be fixing the grammar issues per the copy-editted script next week, and then I can release the stories! Yay!
@Miss.Moonlily7: LOL That *IS* quite a horror movie trope. Should we make it a "dead white teenage schoolgirl horror movie epidemic"?
