The Shadow

by LeeWiddershins
Coral has always envied superheroes. She follows every story about local government-sanctioned protector, Red Giant, though half the headlines criticize him for letting supervillains escape. When Coral finds out Red Giant is actually her boyfriend, she creates an alter-ego of her own. Who better to help a hero make the tough calls than a villainess who knows him best?

Gaunt, as he is dragged off: And I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling kids!
Good plan, Red.
I hate cars so much.

I'm not going to miss trying to draw burns every week, friends.

In other news, over on the Patreon I've started serializing a novella! It has nothing to do with Shadow but everything to do with lesbians, cats, and fairytale retellings. Check out the first installment and let me know what you think! https://www.patreon.com/posts/white-cat-part-1-13933939
As a reminder, from now on patrons will get early access to new pages, as well as other fun stuff. You can access early pages here on Smackjeeves by logging in with Patreon, as soon as I find a good place to put that button, or keep an eye over here: https://www.patreon.com/parkerctg
And we're back!
Well it took us a while, but here we are at page 100! I'm excited to try and get back to weekly updates. If you'd like to help keep Shadow going, please check out my Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/parkerctg
@JUSTARANDOMGUY: Yeah, I have the next few pages sketched out, it's just a matter of finding time to draw them. I'm hoping to finish the arc, at least, though I don't think I'll go back to weekly updates anytime soon. Thanks for still being interested!
Hey
I see that you're in haitus, any plans on continuing this year again?
This page tried to kill me I think! And it should have had a content warning, probably. Expect burns and nastiness for the next few pages.
Hey ya'll, it's been a while! Mea culpa. Well, we're updating again. Will it be every week? Probably not! I'm trying to work more on things that might have actual monetary value, you know, so I can afford to live and stuff. But Shadow will continue, if at a gentler pace. Thanks for sticking around. <3
@JustARandomGuy: You've got it mostly right, though the words you asked about should be "goes," "an arrant," and "R.L. Stevenson." If you'd like to read the whole poem (I used the beginning and end but cut out a chunk of the middle), you can find it by searching for "My Shadow" by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Hey
@LeeWiddershins: What does the text say? I can't read all of it.

"I have a little shadow that [COES]? in and out with me and could be the use of him is more than I can see he hasn't got a notion of how children ought to play and can only make(?) a fool of me in every sort of way but my lazy little shadow like [Anarrant]? sleepy head had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed [r. steven l. son]?

Sorry if this has already been asked/answered before.
@JustARandomGuy: Thank you! I don't have any prose stories written for Shadow, but it could happen if that's something people are interested in.
Hey
@LeeWiddershins: I like this a lot! Is there some sort of story that you have written for this for the public? I can't wait for the next chapter.
Sorry for the lateness, all. I'm still working, just... very slowly. Thanks for sticking around.
I won't bore you with the trials this page and I have been on; suffice it to say I'm sorry I'm behind and we'll see what we can do about that tomorrow.
I am really sorry this page took so long! I'll try to have two updates next week to get back on track. We're getting really close to 100 pages now, so that's terrifying.
For a second, I asked myself, "who's going to drive the van since Uri can't see right now?" But I just can't imagine Tarry driving and Jack is a ghost, so Sam is the only one with a license.
Awesome page, I LOVE the way you depict invisibility. Very cool. Also, poor Kyle. ): He's too precious for the world of crime.
