In 2017, the crew of the starship Odysseus were put into cryosleep for their long, important, vital mission; to discover alien life, off Earth.

Three years after that, Earth made first contact.

Now: Earth is destroyed, with the crew of the Odysseus thrown into an indifferent and bizarre universe with only two of the only surviving humans and a group of friendly aliens for company. Can they find joy in a world without Earth? Can they find a new home?

Not just a Vith, but a Goddamn Vith (TM).

I really love Samira.

@Siren: Aw I'm glad that came across.

And yes, there were! I took them down temporarily because they are bad but I'm gonna put new improved better ones up soon.

Samira appears to be awkwardly trying not to draw attention to herself and giveaway her Vith impersonation while also probably reeling from the news that nearly everyone from the homeworld is dead.

I forgot Samira's name so I checked the cast page and didn't it used to have entries for the more than just out three lost Odysseus survivors? Or was that just the Tumblr?

The hesitation before the "friend" suggests something more. You are really good at subtle but hard hitting details.

At least the loss of certain portions of humanity will soon free him from the social pressure to tiptoe around his queerness?

We're going to learn more about xir planet's fall and the blockade, right? I hope so.

This is too much. Save xir Samira.

I'm concerned about both of their childhoods if nuclear destruction makes for a sensible metaphor for parental rights.

Of course, if Vee is a gay man raised by a family conservative enough to teach him the universe is only six thousand years old and able to isolate him from from heretical scientific information, his upbringing would probably cause him issues.

Church goers in Texas are going to be respectful and kind to both queer people and Muslims? This is Texas in 2016? I do wish that was the dominant attitude among Christians.

She's really earning that "human error" shirt, isn't she?

From what we've seen or Charli's original programming, I'm not surprised.

Earth was destroyed because of the American religious right antics, wasn't it? They really do approve of bullying other countries to get their way (my grandfather legitimately doesn't understand why we don't just firebomb the middle Eastern civilian population until terrorism is wiped out - he believes America should do that and that we'd still be lauded as the good guys world wide).

We've seen what human "diplomacy" looks like under a president who would have approved of Charli's original, "patriotic" programming, and if you add alien cultures and tech to the mix the danger is very, very real.
