@Oly-RRR: Haha, thanks! I wanted the healing period to reflect what it is in our time rather than implement some futury thing that would require additional explanation/page space. I did a bit of research, hopefully enough!

@Oly-RRR: Oh gosh - thank you SO much for all the lovely comments!! I had a really nice time reading them all, it is really informative for me to know what people are thinking after every page, as well as just plain fun :D I really appreciate it! Chapter 3 is coming soon and I hope you enjoy it!!

Woo, congrats on finishing Chapter 2!

And it does read a bit unclear, I thought it was Eko - Chenu - Eko but to be fair it's not the most plot-important bit ("bla bla pretentious ominous stuff" and we already knew it from Demeck) so you can get away with it. :)

The last scene was so intense it's hard to care about bloody Chenu right now D: I have to admit he makes a really intimidating antagonist.

And catching up on this has been fantastic, keep up the brilliant work!!

I think their backgrounds actually explain a lot of how they are as people.

I'm glad Chandra is on the case.

And I think Demeck and Aja teamed up would either be terrifying or... actually might do something good?

I bet Winsome would like to get away from there for almost any reason even yeah, that is ableism!

Aja IS kind of disturbing sometimes, she has this coldness lurking in the background in the same way Demeck has dormant good qualities. I mean she wants to buy the contract not to help the Winsomes out but as a gift for Chandra?

Kudos for realistic prosthetics even in a sci-fi story (I mean he's not up and playing football/piano in 3 weeks like Hollywood does it). Sooorryyyy, it sounds like I constantly have low expectations, I don't, it's just that.. when something is good and isn't done often it's worth complimenting even if you expected that person to do that. Aw, awkward.

And I was worried there was something meaningful/ominous about the book itself!

Are they all there because of debts? Hannah said it was ironic they were "serving life" so they can't be there for crimes. Maybe something political?

AND I BET IT'S CHANDRA ON THE LINE 8)

I thought so! And I also like how theory about Demeck is kind of confirmed - Hannah wouldn't joke like that with someone totally mean. I guess he's a criminal trying not to be unnecessary cruel, and that's... well, I guess someone law-abiding people NOT trying to be kind can do more harm than that.

He's not my favourite character or anything, I just enjoy seeing characters written in a more complex way than good/bad. :)

I like seeing more of the characters' lives! And I like reading your explanations. 8) But I'm that sort of nerd, I'm all about stories of fictional people.
