Gigi's Nuzlocke: Harbingers of Revelation

by Pokemontrainergigi
Harbingers of Revelation is a Randomizer "Triplelocke" Nuzlocke Run of Pokemon White. The comic follows the journey of three "friends" across Unova! The gameplay was done by myself (Crystal's gameplay) and Lupasolis (Sae's gameplay), with help from Haunshaul (N's "gameplay"). There's blood and swearing every now and then.

Yeah, while it was sad to see this end like this, I'd rather have an idea of the rest of the story and ending than nothing at all.

As far as the Let's Play's/potential Nuzlockes on YouTube, I honestly say go for it if you think it's a good idea. As someone who enjoys Nuzlockes but can never seem to finish them, it'd be nice. But it's all up to you.
The End
Naming quickly:
Erech - "Gigi had "Shadowfax" [as a placeholder name] which got me thinking of LotR. Gengar only appears in the last battle, like a deus ex machina. The Great Eagles are a good example of deus ex machina, but then I went for Erech because the Stone of Erech is where Aragorn leads the Army of the Dead to free them."
Zora - "Zora is a Slavic name meaning 'dawn' or 'aurora'."

As for the fusion, besides not deciding on a name I hadn't settled on a design beyond having 2-3 forms, an "aggressive" form (the one seen in the Relic Castle that's silhouette looks like Mewtwo), maybe a "defensive" form, and a "passive" form (which would look more Mew-like and adorbs).

And that's the end! Or the end of my notes at least. There'd be an epilogue chapter to wrap things up like Crystal reuniting with her original team. I hadn't decided on the specifics of that or the fate of Crystal's new team. Same goes for N, N's team, and Sae's team. No idea what their fates would be. Sae's team would most likely be disbanded.

There were two scenes I never wrote in my notes because I wasn't sure where to put them. The first was N possibly meeting the fusion before the final battle (either randomly or introduced to through Ghetsis). N might have also been introduced to the Horsemen and explained their purpose (not sure how much I'd give the audience at that time).

The second would be a flashback revealing some or all of this information: Crystal was the child of two Neo Team Rocket members in Johto who were killed by Mewtwo when he learned of humans trying to restart Team Rocket. Mewtwo erased Crystal's memories and left her with her future Dragonite who raised her. In the second chapter Crystal mentions getting her memory erased by psychic Pokemon a lot? Crystal was an obnoxious kid. Whenever Mewtwo would visit Dragonite, she'd intentionally/unintentionally annoy him. Having no idea how to deal with children, Mewtwo would simply mind control her, put her in a vegetative state, etc to get her to stop. She got a bit less annoying enough for Mewtwo to offer teaching her how to understand Pokemon (and by teach I mean tinker with her brain).

But otherwise that's it! And I'll leave you with a final note:
DON'T.
DO.
TRIPLELOCKES.

I SEE WHY PEOPLE STOP AT DOUBLELOCKES. Holy crap there's too much information to keep track of much less show without dragging things out. And as a datamined person I definitely focused on the data a bit too much...my notes feel more like checking off datapoints than really writing a story and having it all laid out I can see that. Ugh, but otherwise I like it and while I didn't finish it as I originally intended (as a comic...) it's nice to have it all laid out.

Thanks for those who've stuck around to the end. My apologies again that it had to end this way, but better than no ending at all, right?

"Will you do another Nuzlocke comic?" I dunno, it's hard to say what the future has in store. I have considered doing Let's Plays of them or whatnot on YouTube, but I dunno.

@Pokemontrainergigi: I remember naming the Ampharos "Jove" because you had already used "Jupiter" in your PMD Sky run. After I was asked to change Tato's name, I thought I would prevent further redundancies. Then you asked me to change it to "Jupiter" because you said you liked it better. Either way, they both refer to the same deity, so it doesn't matter much.
Chapters 30-34
Well there's two more chapters after this, but nearing the end. First name meanings and personalities:

-Otmar the Empoleon, named after the creator of Pingu. He'd have a 'proper butler' type personality.
-Jove/Jupiter the Ampharos is named after the Roman God of Thunder. Lupasolis picked one name, I asked her to change it, she did, then I reconsidered asking her to change it and now I don't remember what I settled on, haha. She'd be spunky and take orders from no one (or at least say she won't). She'd adjust her personality around Crystal though, to not get found out. It's possible Sae would have gone as far to say Jove/Jupiter was male to throw Crystal off (though Crystal would be able to tell the difference, and be accepting of her supposed chosen gender).
-Spade the Excadrill is named after the tool of the same name. She'd be assertive...that's all I got.
-New Charmander-line teammate's name will get mentioned next chapter(s).

Don't have much to say summary-wise except the Charizard (who would be shown as a Charmeleon in Chapter 34 and evolve between 34 and 35) is female. Why does it matter if she's female? Because I kept forgetting that. She'd just straight be the Clone Charizard (if you didn't figure that out) if she was male. But no.
(There's a typo, I apologize for this)
Well, of COURSE Hau isn't as good at raising Pokemon. He's like, 11.

(In all seriousness, there was a typo, and I apologize again for this.)
Chapter 28/29
Been awhile since I updated this, haha. Is it because of Pokemon Sun? Nope, real life and making comics based on the first few hours of Sun (I've made such little progress... DX)

We're starting to get to places with more holes. As stated above, I figured I'd have years to really nail these parts down...oh well.

Chapter 27
New catch: Rana (Latin for "frog") is a smartass, specifically making comments to Sae, both disappointed he can't understand, and getting more of a laugh because he can't understand.

This chapter was a little more poignant when this was the third run in a series, so Crystal's deaths from all three would carry over. *shrugs*

Rest in peace, Baku, the most badass Hypno to ever live, able to tank two super effective attacks before dying to Kenya's Sand Stream.

And now poor Sae doesn't have a translator. At least Baku'll be ok.
Chapter 26
Sorry there's been no illustrations in these for awhile. Planned to add one today but my tablet decided to act up and quite frankly, I worked a bit late on this one so I just want to sleep! XD

Well we got a new Pokemon, Ebony! (so named because "Ebony is a dark color") Honestly, Ebony was so far out HIS (holy crap I can't remember his gender) personality wasn't set in stone much more than he'd be a "hipster".

In-game Baku died, but Sae gets a break this time with Baku being written off as a trade. Considered adding something in with her "Forewarn" ability, as she knew she die if she remained with Sae, but opted not to write it in the summary as I wasn't 100% sold on it.

Chapter 25
The VHS viewing being another scene I was super excited to draw like the one in Chapter 16. You might notice a trend.

Also been doing a lot of thinking while making these chapter summaries. I'll probably end up making a random "final thoughts" bit at the end...but we still have 11 more chapters to go!

I don't know if having Mortuus choose the wild Pokemon over his team gives Sae much of a pass. I mean sure he's alive, but Cornelius died for him. I get that you mentioned Mortuus is the type that would follow anyone but it still kinda seems like a jerk thing for Mortuus to do, especially considering the circumstances. It could be me reading too much into things, but that no hesitation Pokeball smash and the word "forced" imply to me Sae's not too happy about this turn of events. Poor guy can't get a break.

Well that's one way to interpret a Ghost type's death in a Nuzlocke. With the involvement of an escaped criminal.
Chapter 24
Confession: Mortuus died in-game. I fully prepared to write him out as dead...but I also tweaked his personality before writing him and seeing how I've given other characters a pass and Sae's just gone through so much...Mortuus, buddy, ironically you're the one who's given a pass on death.

I didn't mention Sabine in text (but she would be revealed this chapter with little fan-fare) as N's Zoroark! Her name matches the "manifestation of darkness in the Leven Thumps book series", and she'd be shy, mostly using her illusionary powers to go unnoticed. She wants to keep N safe, but not in the same fervor as Azalea. She usually does so in more subtle ways, and contrasting Azalea, does not seek approval.

Pokerus! Making EV training easier while also making Pokémon hostile! Makes me wonder... are the hostile Pokémon in Mystery Dungeon actually infected with Pokerus?

And on the topic of Mystery Dungeon, let's just hope this bite injury won't require the insertion of another piece of metal.

Familar...Of course! Ghetsis's laptop must be the same brand name as Sae's old one. It all makes sense now!

Edit: I guess you could say Zeal is living up to his namesake this chapter. I've never seen him so enthusiastic.
Chapter 23
And our adorable sunhat was infected...by Pokerus! Okay not really, but also yes really. The feral/mutating virus plotline got it's spark from my team in-game suddenly getting a case of Pokerus (and from ideas from my Sky Nuzlocke, but a real call to action after the first point). I don't know who got it first it because it took me so long to notice, but there's your fun fact this Halloween! (Happy Halloween btw!)

@Pokemontrainergigi: Well, I do have the excuse of inexperience. It was my very first run after all.
@flareon71: Yeah :C
@Lupasolis: And if the random passerby does not remember, Lupasolis controlled Sae. ;D
