Kirby Card Clash

It was a peaceful day in Dreamland after Kirby saved King Dedede from Queen Sectonia. Or at least until a mysterious black Kirby named Umbra showed up. Depowered, Kirby sets off on what could be his hardest adventure yet all while looking for cards along the way.

They couldn't make mode like subspace again in the time they had. Spirit battles was there solution. Again I don't remember the "hype of it" beyond a single trailer.

That still 74 characters, 100+ stages. Respect Opinion just noting that from other side it was probably alot hard work.

SSB Ultimate Review
So I had Ultimate for over a week now. So far my biggest problem with Adventure Mode is that it is still mostly Spirit Battles. All of those Spirit Battles make it awfully repetitive at times, making it feel like a fetch quest. Seriously, besides the 70 something fighters and 10 different bosses, you have to fight hundreds of Spirit Battles if you want the 100% stamp on your World of Light file. If I want to spend all day fighting spirits, I'd go to the Spirit Board. I think it would be better if they included some stages reminiscent of what we saw in Subspace instead of some of the spirit battles.

Seriously, if I see Lumiose City, Alola, or any places we see in other games, I want to explore them. Heck, there was a place on the map with buildings shaped like gaming systems. I haven't gotten to see that anywhere, and you're telling me that I can't stop and take a break from all of these Spirit Battles to do some sightseeing? I mean, the closest we get are a few "dungeons", if you can even call them that, and 1 minigame. Don't get me wrong, the last 3 were pretty good. Most of them you could tell what they were supposed to represent even if you have seen little to nothing from that series, and the last three struck me as very clever with one of those three having something I never saw coming. That being said, it got considerably better after the 5th boss fight.

Next thing to note are features that did not return from the last game: the character trailers, Smash Tour (thankfully), Smash Run, Character Customization for characters other than Mii Fighters, Target Blast, Home Run Contest, the trophy descriptions (which I wish all of those spirits had), and Stage Builder. I'm going to miss Stage Builder and Smash Run obviously, as well as customizing my characters. I don't remember everything else we had in 4.

Then there's Classic Mode. My biggest complaint? We can't use Mii Fighters. I like what they did with the bosses though. We don't fight Master Hand and/or Crazy Hand every round of classic now as which boss we fight depends on our Classic Mode Route, but I wish we got 3 more than what we did. Specifically, I wish Metal Face, Yellow Devil, and The Dark Lord all got the boss treatment. It would've also expanded World of Light a little too. I mean, we see them as enemies on their respective stages, we see them as spirits, but we can't fight them as bosses? It's kind of a let down. I wanna take on Metal Face as Shulk, or Yellow Devil with Mega Man, or The Dark Lord with my Mii Fighter. That last one is definitely a missed opportunity.

Besides Incineroar, I have to complain about two characters. First: Samus. I'd like to see her using more than just the same armor recolored to look like different armors. I'd actually like to see her other armors, like her Light Suit or Gravity Suit. Basically, I saw Dark Samus's white and black costumes and looked at the spirits for Samus's suits then went "Why can't you have any of those suits?" The second one? Ganondorf? He uses a sword in his Smashes now. All I can say is "It's about time!" Seriously, where was this at least two games ago? I wanted to see TP Ganondorf use his Sword of the Six Sages. Now I only get to see Ocarina of Time Ganondorf swinging around a Darknut Sword while reminding me of Ike's Smash attacks.

Now, does Ultimate live up to its hype so far? I don't quite think it does, or at least not completely. Do I regret buying it? Only because I got the digital version instead of the physical card. Seriously, I had to archive several things just to get it to fit. Want it but haven't bought it yet? Get a physical copy. That game is over 12GB on my Switch.

Next on my Ultimate Checklist:
Fighter's Pass #1
Summoning Samurai Goro's spirit and getting a second Sakura Samurai spirit
Unlocking all the music and Mii Fighter costumes and headgear

That and this is a different universe kirby. I mean if you wanna go with the canon warp stars you could use this oppurtunity as a canvas for character progression.

I admit, I made this page before I saw the opening cutscene to World of Light. That being said, while Kirby can travel even faster than Sonic with his Warp Star, being able to control it well at those speeds is another thing as is being able to hang on.

No of course not...
The opening theme for Smash Ultimate makes me want to work on Star Cross Dreams. It just feels like it would fit the comic.

Of course I still can't work on it. Too much up in the air for even having it take place during an unspecified point of Card Clash, so I'm stuck having to wait even longer.

Smash Ultimate is Fun, Having alot fun playing adventure mode as veteran. It still gonna take bit before unlock em' all. I plan play with siblings laters time.

Mii's are still great.

Should Note pal' : They specified they emphasized on fun gameplay (battles) in adventure mode rather than try do subspace. Adventure mode hype was the one trailer. But agree with notion it's no subspace. At least it got minor exploration even if just rather linear set pathways

Unlocked nearly half the roster in Ultimate. So far the Adventure Mode doesn't quite live up to its hype. It's just missing a couple of things: first, it's not really all that adventurous compared to Subspace Emissary. We see this huge map, but we don't get to actually visit any of the areas displayed. We just go to one of the many stages in the game. We're also missing minor enemies, like Primids and Goombas. The main things that Subspace had that we got? Fighter Battles and Boss Battles. Honestly, it feels like it's so close, but not quite there yet.

As for Classic Mode, it sucks that we only get one life going into each fight and have to pay gold or tickets to replace them. It's not all bad as we continue the battle from where we get KO'd.

The rest I'd say meets my expectations. It just gets tiresome for us Smash veterans having to unlock ALL of the characters we used in the older games excluding the eight the first started us with. I'd say this game is better for newer players to the series. For people looking for an easy way of getting all the characters, going through Adventure Mode seems to be the easiest way as you get to power up your fighter, despite Adventure only starting you with one character. Finding more fighters isn't that hard. Only finding the ones you want.

So I finished Soul Melter EX in The Ultimate Choice. It was HARD. The first two times I actually managed to reach Void Termina, I got my butt kicked. I like how the last chest held nothing more than a Cherry. I had to use my amiibos on my latest attempt just to complete it. I also completed Guest Star with the Mage Sisters and was surprised by the lack of Mage Sister bosses, Yiggy Woods, and Hyness.

I wish Guest Star gave out 3 Dream Rods every playthrough instead of making it vary with each character. I was also afraid that the new update wouldn't keep my attention long enough for Smash Ultimate to come out.

@Nova Ozuka: listening to it again... i feel like the hard to be me is correct, and the go partis also correct. I feel though that the subject's a mystery is also correct.

@Nova Ozuka: hmm... i downloaded the song, and i gotta say your kinda right. Some of the lyrics you used make more sense to the actual song...still, i love to sing it, no matter the lyrics. So dont mind me as i...
DEJA VU! I've just been in this place before, higher on the street, and i know its my time to go! Calling you, and the search's a mystery, standing on my feet, its so hard when i try to be me, whoa!

@Z-Gamer007: I'd say you got some of the lyrics wrong. After listening to the song again this morning (I've listened to it many times beforehand), I've determined that come home is a little too long to be confused with go, and I am still fairly sure that it's search instead of subject. As for "be me" vs "believe" I say it could be either as it isn't very clear what exactly is being sung at that part of the song, like a few others. (I still can't make out "calling you" when listening to it.)

If you got that straight from a video (which I can't watch at home where I make all of my comic pages), I'd say they got some of them wrong.

@Z-Gamer007: I never claimed to know the exact lyrics. I also copied and pasted most of them.
