Invisible Girl Meets the Big Damn Hero

Invisible Girl Meets the Big Damn Hero

by tatterberry
In a world full of superheroes, Alice has felt 'invisible' since she was a teenager, and not in a fun way. Resigning herself to a life of quiet loneliness, she dedicates herself to her studies and wins a scholarship to a university focused on training people to enter the industries surrounding and supporting heroes. Once there, however, she begins to discover that maybe she's not quite as invisible as she assumed...

Romance-y slice-of-life-y type thing with LGBT+ themes.

Hi, I just finished reading the whole thing!

I think my favorite part of IGMBDH is that the story never devolved into the main characters punching bad guys.

It is quite often that I hear a story about superhumans described as "character-driven" or "about the people behind the masks." Yet, almost always, comics with superhumans turn into a race to see how the supers we like will stop the supers we don't like, usually with a bunch of fighting. The emotional development of the main characters and their relationships are, at best, playing second-fiddle to fighting the bad guys.

In this comic, though, the protagonists and their relationships ARE the story. There is no antagonist, and there doesn't need to be one.

If you ever write another comic, I'll make sure to read it.

"Attentional manipulation and short term memory formation". So Alice has the power to make people not notice her, or forget she was there? As depressing as that might sound, it might actually be a pretty cool power to have. Perfect for infiltration. All the times she was invisible, must have been her natural shyness activating her power. But her attraction to Leo made her immune to the effect.

Thank you very much for writing this. Bookmarking it for the next time I feel alone.
At least this isn't miscommunication drama. Thank you for creating characters who actually talk to each other.
