Beta and Tone: Genesis [DISCONTINUED]

Beta and Tone: Genesis [DISCONTINUED]

by Bt Man-Shadowy Hero From 200X
NOTE: This comic is discontinued. I have retired from comics due to my lack of skill.

Once upon a time, there was a comic called Beta and Mega Adventures. It had a good run, but was suddenly rebooted. However, there were plenty of nods towards the pre-reboot comics in Bt Man's other comics. It was eventually decided that Bt brings back the old version of Beta and Mega back to it's former glory and beyond... And now, digging the remastering out of it's 100-ft hole, he works to bring the comic back to life!

Join Beta Man- the original All-Star Number created by Dr. Light- and Tone- a robot created by an unknown scientist- in their wacky adventures, as they travel the void, fight against the evil Dr. Wily, stop a robotic revolution... And a lot more beyond that! It's a new take on a long lost version of a comic!

Dieing after two pages. Two, the magic death number.
@Bt Man-Shadowy Hero From 200X: That's no excuse. You gotta practice. Learn from other spriters.

EDIT: dang, your link to one comic leads to the link to another comic. Adception?
@Guest: I am a mediocre spriter at best.
how the hell do you put that many robots into a bag?
-insert much shorter fresh prince style rap intrucing BaM here
AAaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THAT IS A LOT OF TEXT STOP
The Prologue isn't over yet!
Sorry for this being so late. I had to go somewhere for a while, and the moment I came back, I was left with absolutely NO Internet up until today. (Which was a PAIN because I had to use up the limited high-speed phone data I had and soon ended up merely with low-speed data. Which didn't help the fact that my normally available phone apps and my texting speed were both terrible for anything.)

So, let me explain something: Why are Beta Man, Sargent Man, and Ninja Man recolors in this one?

Well, in the original Beta and Mega- originally Bt and Mega due to Beta's terrible old name- before it was deleted and replaced with the reboot, those three were originally recolors up until the 4th Chapter, when both of them got an upgrade that changed their designs. However, there were two reasons Beta, Sargent, and Ninja were recolors to begin with:

1. They were based on characters I used in a community's roleplay- which is even where I came up with these guys' concepts to begin with. The reason Beta Man looked the way he did as Bt Man is something kinda hard to explain without linking to the community, but I have no plans on advertising the community or the fan game it is based around. Same goes for the other two.
2. I had no understanding of what makes an actual original design back then, and I was not a good a spriter than I am now. (Though even now I'm merely mediocre.)

This is the only time you will see these older models, and the reason I used them to begin with is because this is based on the world of Beta and Mega BEFORE the reboot, and these models are part of the original lore. But from here on out, Beta Man, Sargent Man, and Ninja Man will be using their newer models.

MegaBoy looked different in the original as well, but MegaBoyX7 wanted me to use the newer model instead, so there's that. As for MegaBoy's personality in the comic... Well, I doubt I nailed it, but this is my initial thoughts on MegaBoy's character thus far.

Finally, there were two different stories as to what MegaBoy's true backstory is. One is based off of the current Beta and Mega Adventures, which has been discontinued. And the other one is from the original story of Pre-Reboot Beta and Mega, and that is MegaBoy being the original Copy Robot from MM1. ...I am not going to use that backstory. As such, I will not use either of these stories, and will leave MegaBoy's true backstory an enigma.

(QnA's part of this backstory: http://askthebetas.smackjeeves.com/comics/2471921/hidden-beginnings/ )
I declare this comic...DEAD!
you're doing pretty good man. i didnt notice anything cringey about your writing, unlike the guy above. i'd say your doing pretty good. keep it up man ill definitely be keeping up with this comic
While the writing is a little cringy, the editing of this is actually pretty good so far and has the same quality of something like Cuts Corner or Bass Comic Adventures. Keep it up and you might become something...actually good. Unlike classic BaM! Just...don't do the do the thing where you think it's a good idea to make your 10000th comic while making another so eventually both comics get an infinite hiatus...
Actually, wait, let me make this clear.
ONLY WORK ON THIS, AND IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE, IT MUST BE SMALL. (besides school and a that) This is a large project. A well-made sprite comic that is frequently updated is no easy thing to do. Especially one that tries to fix a complete piece of garbage that fails in every aspect. Old BaM was trash. It was complete and utter garbage. No other way to say it than that, but it also was so bad that I wish MegaBoy saved the archives instead of completely deleting them so you can learn from your past mistakes...And because dramatically reading it in a voice chat or something like that is HILARIOUS. Trust me, because I have done before with a friend once. I'm getting off-topic with this, but what I'm trying to say is PLEASE, PLEASE
1. reupload all of the oldle BaM
2. Make this good. If there is anything to get out of this, just...make this good. The editing quality is already pretty good here. Continue that, and improve either more. Continue to learn from small mistakes. Find mistakes, and instead of starting over, find a solution. You start over instead of learn from your mistakes too often.
Also, yes, I know. Terrible bag sprite.
Allow me to explain some sprite stuff
-I'll start off with the obvious: the Bass sprites are made by Rhythm_BCA. All credit goes to him.
-The Copy Robot sprite seen here is a pose made by some guy from Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch. I'd love to say WHO, but all I can find is a list of spriters who made them in the first place:
CutmanMike, Clawgrip, Cyberkid, Brotoad, Cloakbass, CopShowGuy, Fupoo, Ikari Allen, Joseph Collins, Korby, Musashi-com, Namo, Naoshi, Pippin, Press Start, Smooth, squidgy617, Tubaam, Wanderingmind, Zero-EXE, Dark Linux

I can't say for sure which one of these guys made the Copy Robot pose, but it's best to just list everyone because I can't find any nods to who the EXACT person is. (Seriously, I freaked out and had a breakdown trying to find a name.) But yes, credit goes to where it is due.
-The Guts Man sprite is actually a reference to a sprite made by Adrian Marceau from a game called Mega Man RPG Prototype. (Who at least saved me the trouble of trying to find a name by simply placing them where people could see it. So there's something I didn't have to freak out about.)
-Now for the sprite seen the least: There are a few brief appearances of Bond Man's foot/leg. This actually comes from a Bond Man sprite made by GregarLink10 on Deviantart, who used a base that was created by Kevin X Nelms.

And now to explain my personal terms of how I use sprites...
You see, back when Beta and Mega: Genesis existed in the original Beta and Mega Adventures, there was a problem: trying to find Bond Man sprites to use. MegaBoy tried asking someone on Deviantart for their Bond Man sprites, but we never had a response, and I'm rather sure we still don't have one to this day. And since we didn't want the comic to die and still wanted to include Bond Man, I kinda had to take matters into my own hands. This led to me making this:
http://endermanmagicparty.smackjeeves.com/comics/2191221/bond-man/

...Yeah, never again. And even without eye coloring, they're just plain terrible.

This led to me being too afraid to ask anyone for sprites anymore. Not in fear of rejection, but in fear of not having a response to begin with. So, my terms of sprite usage is now "look for sprites who don't ask for permissions first, just make sure to credit the person if you do." The Bass sprites are an exception because I actually have the capabilities to ask Rhythm and get a response.

This, however, leads to a certain flaw: I take the terms of "it can be used as long as credit is given" to be if the owner of the sprites says nothing about having to ask for permissions first. And this, of course, could possibly lead up to trouble in which would be my own fault for not understanding things.

In fact, this has actually been delayed for a certain reason: I was afraid of being judged harshly for my way of sprite usage. But let's face it: It's impossible to live life without taking at least one risk. It's just how things work.
