I know those backgrounds must have taken a lot of work, but I just wanted to drop in and say that I think every second was worth it, because they look absolutely beautiful. :) Job well done~!

@daniphantomlimbs: thank you! pacing is one of those weird arts that no one can really explain how to do right it seems, so hearing that i've got it down somehow is very encouraging!

I love the pacing of your pages, you've got the beats down solid!! And Dalinar is adorable as hell

Next page is gonna be a left handed scribble with blobs of grey because this was just too much work. Four panels with detailed perspective backgrounds in a row? MISTAKE.

I think it turned out looking pretty swell, though.

Th is is my husband's fault.

Oh thank god. You managed to dodge a cliche of picking a firetype. Too many Nuzlocke have a fire type as their starter.

Happy anniversary!!

It's very easy to get discouraged when you look at numbers, especially when you feel you haven't "put in effort" based on that, as if you were slacking or something. Believe me, I know it's really hard, but please, try not to feel that way. This isn't a job; you don't "owe" anything. We're all at different stages in life, and based on your note from the last page, you had quite the busy year! It sounds like it had its own stresses, but I think it came with its own joys, too. This is a comic meant for FUN, so please, don't stress over how much you feel you have or haven't completed. Life comes first, and this is only one outlet for the free-time fun. No worries, just enjoy it when you're able to. :)

All the same, welcome back. :)

Well, at least it's finally here. Better late than ever I suppose. Can't really blame you all things considered.

Hopefully the comic shall resume apace. Good to see it back in action.

Today marks the third anniversary of Kurukkoo!'s first page being posted, and I'm trying very hard to not look at the page number and how little progress has been made in three years. Instead, I'll look at how much progress has been made in my own drawing and storytelling abilities, the friends I've made in the nuzcomic community, and how excited I am to keep moving forward! Thank you all for reading!

2018 April Fool's version can be found here:

I don't have any good excuse for why this took forever. It was 90% done for ages. Then I had a bad semester. Then I got engaged. Then I had a bad semester while also getting married at the end of it. Now I'm back, and also married. Kurukkoo! isn't dead.

And also, sorry for leaving the April Fool's version of page 012 up for... 9 months. WHOOPS. I forgot that I'd made a smackjeeves when I last updated, so y'all are a page or two behind. Catching up now, this 3rd anniversary of my comic existing.

This is a very fun and engaging opening for a nuzlocke. Many I've read automatically make the rival a jerk, so I really like how you've made Blue a competitive friend and Red not automatically perfect. You can tell that they're friends who will undergo a lot of character development as the story progresses. Not to mention you developed their families with individual characters, instead of just I-appear-just-to-kick-you-out. Like Red's mom. I loved how loving a parent Red's mom was.

So, yeah. Kudos to a lovely beginning. Best of luck!

And we're back!
Thank you for your patience with hiatus, but it's blessedly over now. Now it's time to dawdle around in Viridian City all over again.

In other exciting news, it's that time of year again: The Nuzlocke Forums Extravaganza! This year Kurukkoo! has been nominated for the categories of "Funniest Comic Run" and "Best Rival in a Comic Run," but there are also a ton of other amazing comics in the running in these and many other categories! Check it out and vote here:

I love this interpretation of the game! Can't wait for more!

This is quite possibly one of the best Pokemon comics I've ever read. Everything is just oozing with charm and the interpretation of the original games is extremely creative. Keep up the great work!
