Whyyyy do you make such sad yet moving stories?? Hi, me again, I finished the comic, tears in my eyes. But they might be slightly happy tears cuz Rig is finally doing something really good, even if she is alone. Also, I know deadwood is technically the bad guy at the end here, I still liked him and am sad to see him go. Great work, Songdog! I'm off to read your Best of Bad Decisions now!
Hello, sorry that I'm late to the party, but I found this comic a week ago, and have read it slowly, enjoying your art and the plot. While I have never lost anyone close to me, this comic really gives me the feels. I know it's over soon and I just really felt connected with the characters. In all honestly I started crying after reading this page. Sorry but I just really had to share my appreciation for this work of art. I wish you the best of luck Songdog, to any nostalgic readers when it was published months ago, and any one who happens to find this comic as I have and read this comic. Thank you for the tears and laughs this comic has drawn from me. (Sorry for the long ramble too)

@gentlechaos: I'm actually working on my next series, but cannot announce a release date yet. When it goes up I'll make an news post for it. I think I'm going to upload my one-shot/commission comics in a folder though for the meantime.

I miss this comic :(
..."Wut just happened...?"
It feels unfinished tbh. There were a lot of interesting themes and ideas that just weren't explored enough and lead to seemingly nowhere. Overall I enjoyed the story but it leaves much to be desired.

So it's impossible for her to die and she'll never see Fen again? :( Anyways this comic was pretty cool and unique, I'd love to see more of your stuff in the future.

Thank you for making this excellent comic. I found this last night and read through finishing it this morning, and I am in awe of this tale. Such a beautiful, tragic tale you've woven, such interesting characters and philosophies discussed. I'm so very happy to have found this, and I hope that whatever new projects you move on to keep you well. I'll look forward to watching them.

Cograts on finishing this story!!! I know it's just one fan's opinion but I started out really sceptical about the story's premise but I grew to love it, and the characters and how it ended. It won me over and it doesn't happen often. :)

@Denma: But I did reply, I even double-checked just now (pg244). If you are not logged in you won't get any reply-notifications.

My message said: "Oh hello! That would be very sweet of you ^^ You can link it here, but I also use DA if that's easier. Actually I even link to DoD gift-art on my pages when I upload to DA!"

EDIT: oh whoops, didn't realize I wrote so much. To say the least, I loved this comic.

Out of the many comics I have as favorites, this one will definitely be the one I will miss seeing in my notifications most. I had read BoBD before, and so I definitely was excited to read this one too, but it surpassed my expectations by far. I love your comics, and one of the things that stand out the most is the moral questions. Just because a wolf have to kill a deer to survive, does that make the wolf the bad guy? In a comic with the deer as the main characters, it would feel like the wolves would be the bad ones. But your comics question that. And this is one of the reasons that I love your comics so much.

I'm not sure if this would really be considered a happy ending or not. If Rig was the same deer as she was in the beginning, then it definitely would. But with her hope to have a child of her own, her hope to be with Fen forever, all isn't really one. Sure, she will be able to live. But something I noticed in comparison to the beginning, she doesn't say "but most importantly, and above all else- I am alive." She says "and in spite of it all." It isn't something that she thought was all that important anymore. If she could've lived her life out with Fen and her own child, she would've been content with dying. Those two lines alone show how much Rig has developed.

So, to sum it all up- thank you for a beautiful comic that could both crush my feelings and make me feel hopeful for the characters. I look forward to any future projects. Thank you for making these amazing stories.
