HellBorn

by Karakuri642
The year is 3682. World War III - a bloody war birthed from paranoia - has just ended. Supernatural creatures now coexist with humans, albeit tensely. The world is in ruins. Taking advantage of this, a young girl reveals herself to be the Daughter of God and quickly rises to power. Unfortunately for the inhabitants of Earth, she happens to be a downright tyrannical menace. There's only one person who can defeat her: the son of Satan himself, the Antichrist. However, due to propaganda and an old ambiguous prophecy, he is not very well trusted. He strives to prove himself to the humans and supernatural creatures, and avoid assassination attempts, to one day kill the Holy Tyrant and become the rightful ruler of Earth.

Anthology of stories for all 12 main characters, including the main plot above.

First volume of the comic is nearly over. Just a few more pages to go. After the volume is over, there'll be a small hiatus so I can get the planning for the next volume ready.

The book he's reading is The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. It's a poem (story? Dunno what it is exactly) that I personally like.

I'm glad to be finally adressing his trauma. I've done a lot of research on PTSD and I hope I portrayed the condition right. Even though he seems better in future pages, he never really gets over this.

This will be further explained in his backstory, about volume 14-ish. He did kill them, but he wasn't in control of his actions. However, this still haunts him since there were some innocent people killed, too.

@Karakuri642: The slavery stuff seems pretty legit and believable!

I hope it does help :D

@StanleyComics: XD Yep, I get that. I don't understand much about politics, either.

Thanks! I did some research on slavery for that. It was pretty harrowing, but it enabled me to (hopefully) write it more realistically.

No problem! It really does helps me improve.

@Karakuri642: Yeah, it's like political stuff, difficult and kinda dull to research, but it gives the story a more realistic feel. Said I, who doesn't understand anything about politics xD
Oh, well that makes sense about God's daughter! I'm guessing that we find that out as we go along into the story?
Also, I like how the hybrids fit into all of this and how they're being hunted down and mistreated by their own creators, it's a good conflict point :D

Really hoping it helps! Thank you for being civil and a sport at taking critique :D

@StanleyComics: Yeah, I see your point. I didn't really consider that the president would be in trouble. I hadn't really thought it through much. With the daughter of God, she has an omniscient father, so she's basically unkillable. If anyone other than the Antichrist tries to assassinate her or even demote her, God will step in, and he's immortal, so there's no way to kill him - unless you're Satan.

It's OK, I didn't think it was mean at all. In fact, it helped me discover holes in the story, so it was a big help, for this series and for the comics I make in the future. Thank you! :)

@Karakuri642: Okay, glad to hear it :D
Well, my issue with the story is that it sorta feels unrealistic that the president of the united states would bomb random countries for no seeming reason, other than an ancient prophesy about the antichrist's arrival. First off, if Russia doesn't retaliate, destroying all of US (even if it wasn't bombed, Russia would retaliate in order to win allies), the president would be tried by its own government for committing mass genocide for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Even if we say that in the future, Russia has dwindled and decayed due to climate, financial or any type of cataclysm, this president acts on his own and... isn't demoted and incarcerated as he should be. Because from what I get from this story, the world doesn't know about the existence of supernatural creatures until after the war had broken loose, so how come the governments of the world get so worked up about a vague prophecy from probably thousands of years ago?
Also, the daughter of God concept is interesting, but I doubt that in a world in which supernatural creatures are out and about, no one is going to find it suspicious when any ol' witch claims to be the daughter of God, slays the population out of boredom and still have a large following.
I mean, these are the things that I notices so far into the comic, I haven't read all of it and you may have filled some of the holes later on, but this is what I got from reading to page 23.
I hope this criticism helps and wasn't mean in any way! This is all said with the intention of giving feedback and helping improvement happen :D

This seems like an interesting idea and concept, but I do have a bit of criticism on the backstory here, but I'd give it only if you'd want it, as to avoid being rude.

Kitty is the literal definition of the phrase "scaredy cat"... especially when sharp objects are around. :/

Page 100! :D Forgot to mention, while the plot synopsis is the main story, the story will be a sort of anthology series with all of the main characters getting an arc. It's a pretty long series, spanning 40-something volumes. But hopefully it'll be interesting all the way. The main plot will be starting about page 120. All of this stuff currently is important, though it might be a little boring right now.
