Children of the Gods

by infiniteforces
In the year 1996, the Earth suffers an extinction level event referred to as the "Culling" which nearly causes the end of humanity. Out of the ashes of the Culling arises the Pantheon, a group of seven god-like individuals, who while once mortal, are now in possession of powers and abilities making them far more than human. After saving the planet, these "gods" are universally praised as saviors. The Pantheon are led Odin, the most powerful of the gods. In the decades that follow, Odin and the Pantheon herald the world into an age of unprecedented geopolitical cooperation, scientific discovery, and spiritual enlightenment. Now, on Christmas Eve 2017, Ultra Human Management Division analyst, James "JD" Deckard, and his wife, Sandra, are driving to a dinner date when their paths cross Odin's ultra-powered son, Stormdrake. This fateful meeting starts a chain of events that will change all of their lives and the course of human history forever. Copyright 2018 Sean A. Jackson and Benford Davis. All rights reserved.

Heeeeere's Shift! And the comic book world will never be the same.
Introducing Quantum Shift
Allow us to take a slight detour from the main story to introduce to you, the epicurean Quantum Shift. Shift's a...err... "different" kind of hero. Remember that "dramatic rescue" of the astronauts mentioned in Chapter 2? Find out what really happened
We aim to please.
Thanks
And I was only expecting to get one more page with the update...very pleasant surprise, this.
Great points
@Barrendur: Excellent observations, but there is a lot more to JD than it seems. He is an extremely complex individual, and this is just a small slice of his personality, shown over 36 hours or so. I plan on posting the 4th and final chapter of the 1st Book tomorrow. I am excited for you to see the ending. Thanks for reading.
More, please
Comic so far is very intriguing; reminiscent of the world of _Kingdom Come_ (where humanity's superhuman allies many be the world's deadliest foes), but updated with ultra-modern references, especially to the pop-culture/pop-tech face of a slightly future America. I'd love to see more, please. I _do_ like JD; he's stubborn and unthinkingly self-sacrificing ("Oh, let me get that for you), and I see that he's a responsible, decent man, unfairly treated...but constantly emphasizing how he _keeps_ getting taken advantage of risks making JD appear too stupid to learn and too pathetic to live. If the mistreating and abuse is _too_ absurdly overdone (like Spiderman in the second Toby McGuire movie), then you may find your readers (viewers) going from, "oh poor Spidey" to "can't that pathetic little Spider-ass do _anything_ right?" From sympathy to contempt in one long step.
@infiniteforces: No problem, I enjoy different and crazy stories tend to be the fun ones. ^^
Thanks
@LKWayvern: Thanks for the nice comments. We are trying hard to be different. I hope you stick with us. It's going to get really crazy as we get further in.
Your art style is very unique and different from most that I've seen, but I like it! Seems like a rather interesting story, as well.
Meet JD
The story opens with our protagonist. James 'JD" Deckard.
Opening
I am a huge Quentin Tarantino Fan. I wanted to evoke the beginning of a movie.
