Coalesce

by ThatGhoulArt
Coalesce follows the story of Vayle and Damien. Vayle is an immortal loa of the Ghede family. His family hails from New Orleans, but he left that all behind to join boyfriend Damien. Damien is a mortal thrill-lover who melted this loa’s heart.

Now, following their two year anniversary, Vayle has decided to bring Damien home to meet the Ghede family. In a world where the immortal and the human are often forced to segregate, will this family put that aside to support the relationship between Vayle and Damien?

Hey is there anyway you can put a link to what you used for research of the loa characters, I actually live pretty close to New Orleans where the family is supposed to live in the story but I don't actually know much about the religion of voodoo
@neko13-san: Samedi really is an interestingly complex character I am glad you have liked him so far! Yeah, it is pretty sad to think about how long he may have been alone for- but he has a family now and takes a lot of care for them!
@ThatGhoulArt:

aww, you know me :) I love baron samedi, but Brigitt is looking really beautiful here.

I can't wait to see what else you do in terms of aesthetics. Also, Baron Samedi's backstory is neat. For a crazy dude, with a love of booze, he sure is sympathetic.
@ZzizzR: Thank you so much! :>
@neko13-san: Awesome!! I'm curious to know which two out of them are your favorites?
aahh, omfg, my favorite two. :)
New fan here, just popping in to say I'm loving the comic and looking forward to see how Damien gets on with the Vayle's folks! ^_^
These boys out here, having a sit.
Damien is not the studious type! Vayle is definitely the studying and reading about everything type. He knows the differences between him even and his family, and sort of wants Damien to be prepared.
@ThatGhoulArt: Totally fan boying over here after learning about that. Ahhh sugoi ne...that's so bloody cool!
@tksocrazy: Yeah! Like that! Its sort of the symbol that he is a loa and that he has that magic in him.

(Also yes I am down for the Bleach references)
@ThatGhoulArt: So that part of the face is like an extension of the body then. Sort of like what happens in Bleach when you become a hollow, how neat. I learned something new today. haha
@neko13-san: Tapers would be the right term! You got this give yourself some cred. They're made out of a stone :>
@tksocrazy: Ohhhh yeah they're booty shorts hahaha

We all need some coffee that can raise the dead in our lives it would certainly help!
@TruelyMe: Think of it like a permanent marking on his skin that happened when he became a loa. He can't take it off but it's not an exposed skull.
Is his "mask" built into his face? Can he take it off, or was he born with an exposed scull?
Pardon me for using the wrong term here, but I just love Vayle's tapers. Are they bone, wood, or...They just look cool.
Damn, sporting those booty shorts though, or are they boxers? I can't really tell.

Must be some awfully strong coffee though, if its potent enough to wake up the dead. I need some coffee like that in my life, to get the brain juices flowing. haha
It's the next morning, and they have had their time to relax so onto tackling the new day! Gotta start with some coffee and dead jokes.
@tksocrazy: Thank you so much, this comment means so much to me. I'm so glad to hear you like where this is going :>

There is definitely a struggle and separation that is happening between the mythical/loa population and the human population. That will be present throughout the story as it grows. I am gad that it's clear to pick up on!
