Chroma Key

Chroma Key

by octillerize
When Kim and her friends were young, they used to watch a show called SUPER FIGHTING MIGHTY FIGHTERS. It was kitschy and brightly colored and involved a lot of dubious costume work. After ten long years of growing up and moving on, they should be too old for such things.

However, when a mysterious alien creature enters their lives, offering the opportunity to live out their childhood dreams and save the world in the process, the lure of the past may prove difficult to resist.

Written by Brandon Dumas and illustrated by Laura Reyes, CHROMA KEY is a sci-fi coming-of-age story that updates every Tuesday and Friday. We hope you enjoy!

I don't sign myself, but I really love how you draw them signing and speaking! Like you don't need to draw the whole sentence in sign because the speech bubble is there, but at the same time! It's there! And lovely!!!!
It’s true. I was there.
And she didn’t even get to dress up as She-Ra.
As you can see these to friends are sharing a friendly kiss after the yellowed-clothed lady saved the blue-clothed lady. No homo in this act.

Whoa, this cover of "Sweet Bitter Love" I was listening to went so well with this page :0
I love when that happens
Hell yeah! I love these two so much!
Shh....no April Fools. Only dreams now.
@octillerize: I agree, and I was part of more than one RPG group that just didn’t swallow the DM’s plot bait. But if you’re gifted, you got no real choice, even if it’s not as dramatic as here.

Everything you just said....totally agree! I appreciate you exploring this route. :)
Keep up the awesome work!
It's tempting in this kind of story to have your young protagonists all take the Kim route, immediately accepting what genre they're in and leaping into adventure with wild abandon. I've given it a lot of thought, though, and I can't help but feel that in real life, such a situation would play out much differently. I tried to explore that with this scene.
