Quint's Quest

Quint's Quest

by NavyJoe
Quint's Quest is a classic-styled sprite comic about the adventures of the namesake character "Quint", a time-displaced clone of Mega Man who's on a quest to stop Dr. Wily from royally screwing up the space-time continuum any more than he already has!

I update the comic every Monday and Friday unless I happen to be indisposed for whatever reason. I also post this comic on deviantart at https://www.deviantart.com/navy-joe. I also post the comic, as well as other stuff on my twitter at https://twitter.com/QuintsQuest

"While most robot masters are build with Asimov's "Three laws", as well as a few directives to dictate their actions, Dr. Wily's robots are built with no laws, and three "Wily Directives". Two oddities to that rule being Bass, who's directive to destroy Mega Man was on top, making it take priority over obedience, and Zero, who's brain was too complicated to be shackled by any directive, anyways." Happy Canadian thanksgiving, by the way!

"If you've already played Mega Man 3, you know what Dr. Light is referring to. If you haven't, go and do so, right now. You can probably beat it in the time it takes for me to upload the next comic if you're good enough." (October 11th, 2019)

"In my original draft for a 'combat-ready Roll', she originally used a buster pistol, which is why I had her getting one from Santa Claus in last years' Christmas special. What prompted the switch to a melee weapon was just me wanting to mix things up a bit; Lots of Mega Man characters use guns and other projectile weapons, but so few get up close and personal. When I decided to put Enker in near the end of the first chapter, Roll using his weapon seemed like a fairly obvious route to take." (October 7th, 2019)

Man, seems like it hasn't been too long since last year...

"DISCLAIMER: Copy Robot is not an easy fight in either of the games he's in. However, every character needs to have a flaw, and I feel like one that's good at absolutely everything would be boring." (September 20th, 2019)

ADDENDUM: He's only slightly difficult in 1. He's piss easy in 3.

"I realized as I was working on this that I don't do too much views of the outdoors in this comic; usually either inside of or up against a building. While I freely admit that this set could be better, I do like how it turned out." (September 16, 2019)

"Why did Quint buy a 100 year old camera from the thrift store instead of a digital camera or, God Forbid, using his own eyes to record it? Because that wouldn't be fun. Also because digital photographs might raise some concerns about legitimacy that regular o'l film doesn't." (September 14, 2019)

"It's well known that Capcom can't write a plot worth a damn. They've tried, bless their hearts but Mega Man, especially Mega Man X has always been a textbook idiot plot, and Mega Man 3 is probably the most flagrant example. With Dr. Wily stated to have proclaimed himself a good person and teams up with Dr. Light, the question on everyone's mind no doubt is "Why does everybody somehow believe Dr. Wily's a changed man?" The answer to this question, it seems, is "Who cares? It's a video game. If you want story, go read a book or something. We're here to blow up robots and have fun." (August 16th, 2019)
