@kidcthulhu: actually already have, but it was just to have something to post while laptop is still away... It's going to be away longer than planned, so I may not be able to post for a week or so, the small "tutorial on my way of doing birds" is mostly also to have something to post while I don't have any more pages ready

@ninaqueenbee: I'd like that, but you don't have to go through all that trouble for one reader ^_^

@Toxicodendron: I remember doing research like that, though Ivy is a falcon, not a hawk - they're very similar, and people mix them up most of the time, but they're different species and have different diets and live in slightly different areas. And while altitude and temperature are important, where they're flying matters, too. Falcons are used to flying around mountains and valleys, above forests, while owls fly among the trees most of the time in order to spot prey.

Though one may be slightly faster than the other, since they grew up together they still got used to the other's speed and subconsciously pace themselves to match the other as close as they can.

This made me look up speeds of hawks and owls, though the fastest is probably a turkey dropped from orbit to be cooked.
I may eventually do the math for what altitude and starting temperature is required.

@kidcthulhu: That's so sweet!

Next week I won't be able to post, due to my laptop being away for repairs, maybe I'll post a quick tutorial for how I draw birds?

Is it still a cat fight if both parties are talking birds? ^_~

Great poses on this page. I love birds, I'm typing this with my Blue Front Amazon parrot roosting on my should, but I can't really draw them to save my life!

@Toxicodendron: Buttercup is very sentimental, but like most preteens, he tries to hide it as much as he can. His mother already misses them, but at the moment her pride for her daughters is stronger than her sadness in seeing them leave... Her two little girls grew up so fast!

Looks like Buttercup will miss them, and their mother a bit later.

Thank you! I still am not completely satisfied yet though with my birds. I half-trace from references with the hardest positions (like them flying from weird angles and stuff), but for simple bits like the one in this page I do my best and hope it looks ok xD

I love how you draw birds. I've had birds for over 22 years and I still can't quite get them to look right ^_~

I apologise for not posting at all last week, but I got a message from Smackjeeves that I couldn't have a comic page as a cover on this website, so even if I had a few pages already ready, I had to work on the cover's design. And since the cover is such a big deal, I had work on it a lot (I had a bunch of different designs for it, and chose the one I uploaded as the definitive one).

I spent all summer studying birds in preparation for this comic, that aside I sometimes have reference images to help with odd poses :p

Just a general comment, I'm really impressed with how you draw birds. I've had parrots for years and I can't quite get it right ^_~

I confess, I was not expected the plot to go there. You always keep me guessing.
