My Cup of Tea

My Cup of Tea

by RowanBlaez
BL Comic~! Based in a D&D universe.

As a freckled human with unusual skills looks for his missing friends, he finds himself betrothed to the mad king, and forms a bond with a depressed half-elf monk. The half-elf must take this bright-eyed human to the king. And even though neither of them was searching for love, these two wayfairing souls do seem to rather enjoy each other's company. . . Although such interests will be difficult to explore with a masked man following them, a cursed swords-woman tagging along and a tiefling rogue who's been sent to kidnap the human for the rival kingdom's queen. What shenanigans!

And what the hell is this nonsense about "The Ancients", and what do they have to do with the mad king? All will be revealed in time. . .

Updates every Tuesday. M rating for generic death and violence that you find in D&D settings (though nothing super extreme).

@BladeZero: I know, right!? It's so versatile.
Seji casts CONFUSION
*Seji does a swirly confusing spell and then throws a muffin at the enemy's face*
IT'S VERY EFFECTIVE.
Enemy is CONFUSED!
Enemy FLEES.
Seji gains 1 XP!
*insert pokemon victory music*

Sorry, I haven't had my coffee yet this morning lol
Lovely
I definitely liked the loopy effect. It's generic enough that you could occasionally reuse parts of it--the swirls especially--for other situations too, like a spell or something along those lines.
It's the most wonderful time of the weeeeekkkk~
Still haven't decided if I'm going to leave in the Japanese onomatopoeia things yet. Leaning towards just taking them out. But anyway, this page was a bunch of fun to draw because of how loopy it is :3
@WindowMaker: The lightning bolt (and a fist holding said bolt) is the symbol of his deity. As for being a cleric, all will be explained in time lol This comic is going to be several volumes long (roughly 200 pages each), and this is only the 32nd page of the first volume. I wish I could upload more than just once a week ^_^;

You have a point. I may change the Japanese onomatopoeia words to English ones, or just get rid of them. I'm not sure if they really add anything to the page or not, especially since my audience is probably mostly English speakers. Eh. I'll mull it over. They're on their own layer in the program, so taking them away is easy enough.
He meant the lightning bolt tattoo on Seji's hand? Does it indicate the magical institution he affiliate with, type of magic he specializes, or patron god he subscribe to?

And about Vilas' "I shouldn't say it out loud", was being a cleric such an objectionable (or very exotic) thing in the in-story society?

Also...

Seji: (Huff huff...) X|

I think it would be clearer if you hand-lettered that onomatopoeia in English instead; even when it was written rotated 90-degree.

I can't read Japanese onomatopoeia too (and being an image, I can't look each of them up in dictionary either); so I don't think it makes sense to write these in Japanese, if both author and reader can't understand them.
Trying out those manga onomatopoeia things. I don't speak or read japanese, so if that phrase or whatever is backwards let me know ^__^; From what I understand it's supposed to show intense exhaustion. And look! The horses are back in the scene! yaaaayyyyyyyyyy. . . .
Super awesomesauce cover page >:D

Also, that's supposed to be a Sword Spider <.<
@BladeZero: 2 votes for more~! That's good enough for me lol
@dancinj: That's 1 vote for more~!
It would be great if you had some more of these every now and then.
Please do!
Hope you guys enjoyed this. I came up with this while I was drunk and decided to roll with it, because this is all about having fun lol. If it turns out folks like Tea Talk Show enough, I'll have a couple scattered here and there throughout the volume.
It's 3am, so it's technically Tuesday~!
@WindowMaker: Possibly. Although he might not be worried about it since he could heal himself if he doesn't just die instantly.
Er... Did Seji completely forgot they were still standing in the middle of kill zone?
So you know how when you tell a joke but forget the punchline and then like a week later you remember it and blurt it out and everyone's like "what? oh. . . . yeah. . . haha. . . ." and then they go on with their day.

That's this OTL This is my late punchline page.

Next week is the two-paged end of chapter mini comic! Have a good week, everyone :)
@RowanBlaez: omg I'm glad you found it funny XD(ms is btw ^-^ )
@glowingspiderbutt: LMAO That's the best XD I love it. You've made my day, Mr/Miss SpiderButt. I'm going to see if I can incorporate that in somehow haha
