That watermelon looks frightened.

If talking to plants helps them grow, yelling at them makes them grow even faster, right?

An infected rockgrub. ;)

What's that thing next to Paul's hand?

Don't worry, I referenced the in-game base and I know post-avalanche it's one story. However, from a practical purpose the design makes no sense. The tubes up top look like they were going somewhere and only a single room in a base wouldn't allow them space for anything. Ultimately we don't know what the base looked like in its prime. It could be the landslide destroyed the upper level, or it could be they deconstructed it for materials for their new base.

Why is multipurpose room two-storey?
In game it was single-storey.

@coffeelemental:

Thank you! If I have any questions I'll askhehe. Best of luck with the comic!

I debated for a long time on how Paul would get infected since that grumpy old man never seems to leave the habitat. So while Bart and Marg get cool infections, Paul gets a rockgrub.

I have no idea how kharaa works though since it doesn't seem to follow its own rules. The PDA says it's a 2 week incubation time but one of the Aurora survivors gets blisters right away while Ryley is able to draw out his illness no problem. So I'm just going to assume it varies based on the individual and that Bart and Marguerit, being younger and healthier, will be able to combat it much better than Paul.

Hey, no worries! This comic is pretty standalone so you shouldn't need Subnautica for context. And you're totally welcome to ask questions!

Thank you so much, though. I'm glad you enjoy the art! :)

I don't know anything about Subnautica/have no plans to play the game or anything, but this comic looks super interesting so far! Looking forward to seeing more. The art style is fantastic

She did indeed. You don't mess with Maida.

And thank you! The canon suits are super detailed so it's kind of a challenge of maintaining the spirit of them versus making them repeatedly drawable. X_x
Woah, did she rip that bleeder in half?!

Also, I love the take on the wetsuits :3

Oh yeah, you better believe the warpers know they're there. I'm sure they'll show up sooner or later.
Warpers
Are you intending for the degasi to encounter warpers? As they all eventually have Kharaa, the warpers most likely found them.

Fun fact: a variety of coral evolved to be red because that renders it invisible to predators underwater. Thus, both Reapers and Marguerit have an advantage in their red coloration.

Aside from that, I'm just glad they gave Marg long hair because I can make it all flowy and fun.

Also, bleeders are the worst.

Bart, no. You can't be friends with Kharaa Bird.

It's weird that skyrays and leviathans aren't shown with Kharaa in the game, even though Bart says that literally everything is infected. As far as we know only the Sea Emps are immune, so I'm going to roll with Bart's analysis.

I shouldn't have pushed myself so hard this week, though. I feel like this page suffered a bit for it. *flops*

Poor Bart's maybe a little bit sheltered...
