Linko Man's second birthday is in sight (July 14th) and I think I have made five comics
all damn year. So as long as I am on break and can't get a job, I believe I am going to
try and do what I did when I first made the comic, also while I was on Summer break, and
churn out comics every damn day, at least leading up to the big day. Maybe Linko Man will
see a second guest comic this year. Come to think of it, why am I saying this here instead
of the in the news? Answer: no one reads the news.
This comic suffers from a background that is full of darks and brights, making it the walls of text in the foreground a little harder to read. I know this is a big fault, but I've been wanted to increase Linko Man's panel and text size for a really long time. I originally created this panel size in an all-purpose comic workshop I made for myself at the beginning of my sprite career, and I think their dimensions are based on Bob and George, but it has become gapingly obvious over this story arc that I need a little more elbow room for more action and more distinct text. I just wanted to wait for this chapter to be closed so it was a less jarring transition. I'm really looking forward to it, it's almost time to make the switch.
This speech was hard to write. The wording, the connection from thought to thought, and all the while trying to write something that, you know, just made sense. I sort of come up with these situations as parts of the story and end up exploring their seriousness later on, so it was a little intimidating. But I like to think being slightly uncomfortable with it myself might've been better for the strip, seeing as L-16, while intelligent and genuine, is an awkward and socially inexperienced fellow who isn't used to lecturing like this. I hope it's not corny or anything, I might be too close to it to tell.
