Ah! Good point, thanks! I've made those changes. : )

Since this comic wasn't finished, it probably shouldn't be marked as "Completed". That status is meant for comics that have finished their story, and not for comics that are incomplete, even if they're no longer updating. People who find this comic while looking for Completed comics will be quite disappointed.

I've asked for a "Dropped" status on SJ before, but it's not likely to ever be implemented because most people who don't finish their comics are not around to mark them as Dropped ): You could mention that the comic isn't updating in the description though. It still says "Updates Sundays."

Yeah, it did kinda cut off...well since I never planned to end it heh. Anyway, my Supermassive Black Hole A* comic is still going (link above, below the comic image), and that has a similar art style, so check that one out if you haven't already. :)

Oh Really!?
That's too bad... It feels like the ending just cut off...

Well, it's still a very incredible story, and such beautiful art too. I really like this one!
Please, continue to make wonderful pieces like these in the future!

This is the final page of The Princess and the Giant; I have had to admit to myself that I no longer have--nor have I had for a while now--the time to devote to doing a weekend strip properly. This is unfair to the Princess, the Giant, and most of all to you, the reader, but there it is.

Thank you very, very much for reading. I have greatly appreciated every comment and piece of support, criticism, and feedback that I have received from the many generous and caring people with whom I have had the privilege of interacting over the course of this silent adventure. Thank you!~~

Wait so... the princess is having a incoherent dream for the moment?
Does it still signifies something in the future?

Well some part of my brain thought this week I should draw this weird winged sword-wielding man-boy for some reason, so there you go!

Got a new brush! And it just seemed to demand some fancy prancin'--on molten lah-vuh!

Still dreamin'...

I always figured that if the Princess had an arch-nemesis, it'd be a slightly more mature, blond sorceress.

Obviously the logic of this is irrefutable!

Pencils!

Did I mention that these dreams are just an excuse to put the gosh-so-hard-to-tell-story-without-words-and-with-main-characters-in-radically-diff erent-scales on hold while I just draw whatever fantasy art I want? Because that's pretty much what's going on. Do not try to make sense of them! Freudian analysis, on the other hand, may find plenty to play with.

Oh yeah here's a photo of this page back when it was just pencils:

Smoke clouds and cloudy skies are pretty fun to do in ink wash. :) That fire probably needs work though.

UPDATE: First version was boring, have replaced it with a slightly better one. Here's the originally uploaded version ;p:

I've switched from doing the comic digitally with the Lasso Tool in Photoshop to doing it the old fashioned way with ink on a brush.

Why? Well, I recently switched my weekday A* comic from digital to traditional like this too, and that was in large part because I'm finding it far more physically comfortable to work that way.

Also, when I do them in ink I have originals I can sell and/or show at art shows and the like. It'll probably be a while before I have sales of original Princess art available directly via the web...I still have to get that going for A*, and I have another tricky coding job to do before that, and etc etc. They'll probably be going for $100 each, plus $20/$60 for US/international shipping.

Here's a photo of the original art for page 136--it's black Japanese "Sumi" ink on Canson 150 lb "Illustration" paper hand cut to 11" x 11" (because that's about the largest square size I can fit in my scanner):

Also, next week we'll be reaching the end of this story arc, and then...things are going to get a little nonlinear, but way more epic. Eh...I'll explain more when that starts happening. ;)

Hi! It's been a while since I comment on your comic here!

It's a cool twist with the prince.
He gets more scene time now.

I dunno if this will break the page layout or not but here's a second background I drew for this one, which then made me realize that the first one was the right one after all. ;)
