Bleach: Decision! Ichigo's choice

by Asj
Decisions are made every day.
Whose decision is this to make?

A Bleach fancomic that takes place during the Arrancar arc of the anime. Someone decides Ichigo is better off without his powers. Ichigo has to choose whether or not he’s happy with the decision.

There’s some similarities to the Lost Substitute arc, but this is purely coincidental.
Warning for blood and violence toward the end.

@Hero of Comedy: I kind of semi did. ^_^" Looks like I'd had a page set to show itself after two years... oops.
I need to finish this comic sometime. I'd had the ending almost planned out.
I forgot about this entirely!

@Sorakai: I kind'a failed at it. ^_^" The last page was supposed to be kind'a a spiritual pressure thing, but I wasn't sure how to draw it. >_>" So this page I was like, "well, enough of that" (but there is supposed to be more happening in the page, which you'll see whenever I'll get around to finishing it)

So Undramatic
I was expecting like a page of spiritual pressure gathering then him bursting out of his body, but instead... *Flop* "I can see you now"

LOL, great page though, nonetheless, GREEEEN.

Ah... I started work on this page quite awhile ago, but ended up not doing anything with it for a long time. I've been fooling around with other things lately, and just haven't felt like working on the comic. Also, even though I did work on it today, I didn't finish the page, and I thought I'd go ahead and put up what I had (there is more to the page than this, by the way). With a slightly green tint to it. ^_^" Happy St. Patrick's day.

I think perhaps I should stop for a few months or so, and see if I can get myself to get more pages at once... I still would like to put the last 20 or so pages up two a week if I can. I just don't see it happening at the moment, so maybe after awhile, I can.

@Asj: I was wondering about the hearts XD

@contradiction123: I thought drawing a few hearts would go with the holiday. :D (that, and I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone notices)

Why is there a heart on the badge? Anyway, Happy V-day!

Happy Valentine's Day. ^_^

Since it's probably not very clear, in the first panel, Ichigo's wiping off the blood that dripped down his mouth earlier.
When Ichigo thinks, "normal humans can't see it" it's supposed to mean something more like "people without powers" and apply to Ichigo in the same way he couldn't see hollows. But I didn't know a better way to word it.
It wasn't until a little bit ago that I noticed it was a little jarring to go from the first panel to the second. :/ It's probably because I made the wind stop between the two, instead of keep going throughout the page like I was going to do. >_>"

Originally I was going to have the badge play a little bit bigger a role (like, after Ichigo being able to see the arrancar, running around wishing he hadn't lost it, and after ten minutes, find it in his pocket ^_^" ), but it seemed like too much after I had Ichigo running around earlier. And, I came up with this stuff about his badge (see pag e 6) before the Lost Substitute arc, where his badge also plays a part (and it's a coincidence that Ichigo was away from the badge when this happened, but it seems to fit with what the manga recently said about Ichigo's badge. Ironically enough, one version of the last few pages had Rukia talking about Ichigo's tracking device not showing up because of that big barrier in the woods - but she didn't know that was why).

By the way, I changed the comic's description and banner recently (I wrote a little about it here).

Edit Feb 17: I switched to the original page, and removed some extras pages (which are in an extras folder that I'll show later on)

@super chao: Yeah, you're right, but that's not what they're thinking here. Ichigo's a human, so he shouldn't even have powers. Basically, he got his powers because of Rukia, both times. The time with Urahara, he only got them back because he wanted to save Rukia. That, and Ichigo still refers to himself as a substitute Soul Reaper (Rukia's substitute).
Also keep in mind that this story takes place not long after Rukia returns with her powers. Ishida's saying that she's got her powers back, so both of them aren't needed. She can return to her duty without him.
And Ishida has a hidden agenda to trying to convince Ichigo not to regain his powers - but since he's not even going to be in this comic again... this is the time when Ishida is trying to regain his Quincy powers. He was told that he couldn't be friends with Soul Reapers. So... if Ichigo's not a Soul Reaper... (but Ishida realizes he's gone too far in that last panel)

Thanks for the comment. ^_^ I hope what I said makes sense. Ishida's twisting things around a little, so maybe it's a little confusing.
(oh, and what you said is mentioned on page 31 ^_^)

Wrong
That was the case but his training with Urahara awakened his OWN powers
I think Ichigo is gonna get up.

This is the 'new' idea I thought of for page 55 (first, I was going to show Rukia and Orihime running toward the camera, similar to the end of page 54, only opposite, and fade that image out).
I added a light gray box to this image to show what I ended up with. I had to squeeze a few things into the finished page that had been cut off, and I liked it more this way, but I didn't think I could draw that many buildings, and when I drew Rukia and Orihime as small as I could, they were still way too big.
By the way, the dot is the vertical vanishing point I was going to use. I had to move it for the finished page, though.

(sorry if I completely ruined Karakura Town. ^_^" I didn't use any references)

@short time: Hmm... is that a good "ohhh snap" or a bad "ohhh snap"? ^_^"

@Hero of Comedy: No, today's the day before my birthday.
But I'll try getting pages up faster. >_< I wanted to do two a week for the last bunch, but it seems like I keep slowing down. Now that it's back in the woods (and in the clearing in the woods), maybe that'll help, since the background should be a lot easier.

Hmm... I was going to upload this tomorrow, and just preview it tonight, but I forgot to set the upload time for tomorrow. ^_^"
Oh well. I'll put up some previous idea stuff tomorrow. At first, the top of this page was going to show Rukia and Orihime up close, similar to the last panel of the last page, only backwards. (that's when I thought I'd get it done pretty quick) But then I thought it'd be cooler if I zoom it out pretty far. (and then I couldn't draw them that small - and there were so many buildings. This is zoomed in more than that. I could probably calculate how much so, but not right now.)
