As I Recall...

by ered
I have read more books than I can remember, and can't remember half of what I remember I've read.
As I recall is my attempt at being mildly humorous while I search my memory for any vague recollections of those books. With bunnies.

yup
@ered: omfg, I'm currently reading it (though I seen two different movies about it already so I pretty much know the story already) and it's exactly that. I'm currently in the chapter "OMG did you know Sperm Whale can destroy ship ?! Here's some example : blahblahblah"
It's like "shut the hell up guy, I wanna read about crazy old Ahab )="

I liked this book. you pretty much described it, lol XD
The part with the horse.. :))
The part where he did..that..on the queen's house really left me with no reaction/expression. I was just like "what happened here..?"

LOL. I watched a movie with Dracula. Bz the name ţMinaţ, it mustţve been made after the book. Never read it. I lolţd and faceapalm'ed myself at the scene in which she's dancing with dracula and then some guys in the story reveal the mirrors place in the whole dancing hall and that girl's floating alone in the air. (Dracula can't be seen in the mirror).
It was supposedly a funny movie. "Dracula, a loving dead" or something, was the translation of the title of the movie, I don't know the original name.

I only remember some dude without a leg or something wanting to get revenge on the whale that did that to him. I don't remember how it ended.

I don't even remember ifi I finished that book, so I can't say anything 'bout that title. :p
Although, in my country, I believe the name is just translated directly.

"there was a lot of dancing, some dude and then someone gets hit by a car".
That's my impression of this. Plus "an annoyng girl, so annoying that I want someone to punch her"
Although I have to admit, too, that I only watched the movie. LOL

lol they lost their..whatever you call those.
They can't possibly get them back now, though.
I quite didn't like it either lol. Does everyone hate this book here? Well, more like, not that I didn't like it, I didn't care.
And I didn't get him even though we're supposed to be very close in age..or same..I forgot how old he was.
XD
It's awful, I have to admit. I mean, it's a funny book and all, don't get me wrong-but old Holden nearly killed me. He really did.
I've been 12 when I read it and as I recal it was sarcastical fun for me then.
Pfff!
That was the funniest way to describe this story. Scornful but truly.
You can replace flighty broad with real phony, if you wish.

I admit basing the dress on the movie, tho I haven't actually seen it myself.
lol, totally agree with this book. Did it for A Level and hated it.

And here are parts 3 and 4.

I think the trouble I had with Gulliver's Travels was that while I know it's a satire, I don't know what it's a satire of, so a part will always be lost to me (the edition I read did come with explanations, but those seemed mostly be "this refers to person x whom Swift greatly disliked").

Well, that and why and how would horses build houses? Seriously?

I'll post parts 3 and 4 tomorrow.

I have to say, part 2 was my favourite.
I agree.. I hated reading it in high school. Though it could have been the same reason I hated The great Gadsby which is because somehow they were both full of symbolism and the teachers had to force it down your throat rather then let you just read a lame book = 2x more awful.
