Forum rules
Suggestions & Feedback Posting Guidelines
The purpose of this board is to allow community members to suggest new features or changes to be added to Smack Jeeves. Even if you aren't sure of a specific solution, but you recognize the need for an improvement, point it out!

Before Posting
Please browse/search the forum to make sure your suggestion hasn't already been made by someone else. If you find an idea similar to yours, post your contributing thoughts to that thread. Don't start a new thread unless your idea is significantly different from existing suggestions.

Rules

    1) Use a descriptive title when making a suggestion or pointing out the need for improvement.

    2) Describe the problem / solution in detail. First, explain why there is a problem or a need for a new feature to begin with. Then, describe your proposed solution (if you have one) clearly and effectively.

    3) Respect others' ideas. If you disagree with someone else's ideas or suggestions, respectfully and factually state why. While debate over different solutions is fine, insults or personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Sticky System
Suggestions that have been approved and chosen for implementation by the development team will be stickied. When development begins on an idea, that topic will be moved to the New Features & Changes in Progress board.

Thread of Thanks

We should have a thread on the forum where we can thank our friends and co authors for any help with our comics.
A big shout out "thank you".

Why on the forums? Wouldn't a news post or author comment suffice?

Yea, but if you want to thank all your friends, which now to phone deals for popular people, is 50, Are you going to leave 50 comments of the same message on each of their comics.
Also, if you say thank you to them all at the same time, it's nicer than them all recieving "thanks for ..." that has been copied and pasted.
I think I rested my case.

Why would you leave it on their comics anyway? That's what PM's and e-mail are for, along with news posts and author comments as Mr Aids suggested. Plus, wouldn't you have to notify them that you actually left a "thank you" on the forum? And, assuming you do, couldn't you just send them a thank you instead of sending them to it? As for the lack of personality in a copy+paste message, there's only so much you can do. In my opinion, sending fifty thousand (or however many friends "Mr Popular" the imaginary collaborator has) personalized thank-yous is a royal waste of time and bandwidth. And not just yours, either -- someone has to implement the option, and I'm not sure this is high on his to-do list.

If your truly grateful, you would not need to have the whole world know. Plus a thread of "thank yous" would be as good as the comic promotion thread.
