Broken Char. page

Postby LightEclipse » September 14th, 2017, 10:10 pm

So um
http://auraoflight.smackjeeves.com/Aura ... haracters/
I made my site into a Kingly Grunge. I was able to remove the background.
But as you can probably see, there are no boxes on the right side saying Affiliates and whatnot.

I can provide the coding I currently have in my Overall Layout:

Code: Select all
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>{PAGE_TITLE} :: {SITE_NAME}</title>
{SOCIAL_META_TAGS}
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<link href="http://www.smackjeeves.com/templates/kingly_grunge/style.css?v=2" rel="stylesheet" />

<style>
body {
background:black fixed no-repeat top center;
}
</style>

<style>
body
{
color:#FFFFFF
}
</style>

<style>
h1
{
color=#FFFFFF

}

h2 {
color: #c1c1c1;
}
</style>

</head>

<body>

<div align="center"> <center><img src="..."></center>

<div id="menu" style="margin: 0 auto; width: 900px; background: #000000;">

</div>

Since the right sidebar is showing up on all the pages, except specifically the "character page", it seems like you have a piece of code specifically on that page that's causing this coding hiccup. I doubled checked by doing a "view page source" of your web page and I found this error listed in the image contained in the spoiler below:

Spoiler! :

In html, you always close your tags. It looks like you forgot a </style> tag. However, "view page source" doesn't always reflect 100% what your specific code is. I would suggest posting your code for the "character page" to confirm this.

Also, just a warning, but you have a lot of nonsensical code. They're not hurting your code by staying, but they're a waste of space. For example: in the <style> code I mentioned above, you're trying to change the font color of the <h1> tag to white. But there are two issues with that: 1.) the color already is white from the css style sheet. 2.) color=#FFFFFF is not the proper css code to do so anyways; color: #FFFFFF; is. Also, elsewhere in the code, I saw <dig align="center">. There's no such thing as a "dig" tag in html. You might have wanted to use "div". However, the table is already centered, so I don't know why you need to have this here.

Hope this helps. :]
