Id Engager: Thanks XD It's not an art school but its a uni that does an illustration course, that's where I'm at.

Superbiasedman: You know what, i did twelve pages like that, worked my little heart out, and then they didn't even end up asking to see them D8 I was gutted.

AlkseeyaKC: Happy to amuse XD I wouldn't bother checking out my other comics though...

Sorry for the lack up updates here. But now that I'm on the train again, there has been a lot of time to pass while my brain is dead due to early mornings and my hand is idle. So back in comes the sketching! ... Although lately I seem to have been focusing on single pieces more than lots of little ones lately.

Some... random mage dude. They're fun to draw as their clothes can be totally impractical what with just trying to look rich and grand. Although I'm intending to go far grander to a stupid level at some point so I imagine this one wouldn't be as high up. Whoever he is.

Image

A character of mine called Thadeus Vent who should be making an appearance in Mokepon at some point. Not dressed in his pirate attire. But still with only the one arm. I love this guy, one reason being because he likes to dress completely outrageously to compensate for his shortness. I wish more of my characters wanted to dress in stupid ways that are fun to draw but hey, you gotta let em wear what they like. It's a part of who they are...

So busy lately... Hard to keep on top of things, especially with that blasted thing called Life trying to get in the way too. I still sketch on the train a bit, but mostly just scribbles that don't really translate to finished pieces often. And just sleeping instead for the journey is always so tempting.

Schoolwork time...

An interpretation of Schrodinger's Cat. There's... very well thought reasoning as to why it's been done like this, I assure you.

Another piece of schoolwork where we were each given a random word and had to illustrate it to a list of descriptive words we were given. Guess what my word was. The list of descriptive words were- Abnormal, Immovable, Alien, Adorable, Cheap, Energetic, Small, Ludicrous, Brutal, Scornful, Colossal, Ecclesiastical, Starving, Dancing, Grumbling, Evil, Faulty, Sleeping, Damaged, Popular.

Aaaaand a few commissions I've been doing lately.

Phew! Time to see if I can squeeze a page out.

Krazeh: Seems that halfassing was the key to making it look like watercolour =P

SuperBiasedMan: One thing I certainly like to show is some variety... Particularly in class. As I'm working on a comic I'm attempting to stick to one style in it, and if I had more I would love to use a different style for each one, but I just couldn't hold more than one up at a time. My idol is Bittertea who can use the perfect style for any story xD

Antitime: Aw shucks, you shouldn't aspire to be anything like me your art is beautiful and pro looking <3

Zerosigna: Wow I appreciate the compliment but I wouldn't ever go as far as to say that xD ... I struggle way too much. But thankyou regardless.

Creative corner board, once more I call for your aid and infinite wisdom. I've always loved black and white, I've loved doing it and I love seeing it, but possibly because I've always felt far better at black and white than colour. However I am firmly aware that most people are very fond of seeing colour in the comic's they're reading. I did a colour update recently and rather liked it, and there was not much time difference between doing that and the pencil shading i usually employ. But I wonder should I continue here doing colour, or continue with my strength of black and white pencil shading. People like colour and it lends to a less serious more fun tone, but I wonder if pencil shading is better as it's not so commonly seen. Maybe I should just stick to colour on special pages every blue moon.

Please give me your opinions for I am torn.

Well, you're totally right about color. People do enjoy it more than black and white but I think you should either do one or the other. It's easier to do more black and white with a few color pages but I do think it looks a little unprofessional if it's like A LITTLE BW HERE............. A LITTLE COLOR HEREEEEE...... but most of us are just practicing anyway on SJ so I say do whatever you want so long as it helps you :)

Well, I'd prefer the black and white actually.
Because, you're coloured stuff is good and I like it, but I love the pencil drawings you do in black and white and it's actually a distinctive style.
I mean, the colour one is one I could imagine being done by others but when I see the pencil one I know it's yours instantly.
I'm not sure how good of a thing you consider that to be but I love it personally.
