Yaks Lovely Painty Time [Crits loved]

Postby YakkitySax » March 25th, 2012, 10:23 pm

OKAY. So, I decided to make a new sketchbook since.. I haven't updated my other one in forever and I've improved quite a bit since then.

So, here's my current WIP that I'm making in SAI.

I hope to get it done tonight/tomorrow. Just started on it half an hour ago. <3

Oh hellur! I like what you have of your work in progess thus far. I can't seem to find within me the patience to work with SAI. Very interested to see it when you're finished! :D

Thanks! Honestly, I used to work 100% in photoshop and decided to try out SAI more today with painting and I'm absolutely in love with it.

Looks awesome so far! I'm hoping you'll pump up the contrast by the final. It's a little dark.

All done! I added a little more contrast, like Sonic-ock suggested and I like it pretty well. (The armor got a little miffed in the end, but I think I was tired. May edit later.)

I like it. It's all dark and mysterious and broody. I also love that it looks almost as though you've done it traditionally. Makes me want to hunt out my tablet and try out SAI again. I could never get my artwork looking that good on it.

Aw, thanks guys! <3 This is seriously the one thing I'm most proud of ever. I want to hang it on the fridge next to that creepy drawing of my roommate.

@KC: I thought about making it brighter, but I had already added some more contrast as per Sonic-ock's request. If I made it any brighter I don't think I would get the mood across that I was looking for.

My ctritique here is that it's too good, if you could perhaps pull it back a bit that the gaping divide you and us mortals is less apparent It would really MAKE this piece.

You rock, I love you, and I give up!
