Sky's comfy haven

Well, I thought I should just dump what I have. I have this habit of never showing what I do because I still think it's not good enough, but there will always be something I'll want to imrpove and I should begin showing it sometime if I want to do something with my art, it also seems that you can get helpful advice so here we go:
These are two characters I used in RPs

Rushed choices about those letters.. And I really need to learn how to scan watercolors better, it lost a lot. And inking, I need more confidence in my lines, in hindsight I should also have waited until it was dry too.

Character sketches for a collab I'm doing with a writer

Awkard leg is awkard.

I want to get back to this one about the face.

I looked at how many heads he had and it was alright, but that mop of hair and the wide pants hanging low make his legs look shorter, I think I might do them longer, or pull his pants up. The outfits I still have to decide about them (not the 1rst's though)

Spoiler! :

It's in watercolors and when I scanned it I messed around with the colors because the grass didn't look green. In the end I made it look extremely yellowy though I still have to touch it up digitally so I hope I can make it look better.

And that's it for now. Advice would be really appreciated.

Sometimes just small adjustments to Levels and/or Contrast can help a lot to enhance scans.

Your characters seem to have a lot of personality to them. I particularly like the first one and goggles-guy.

Thanks, I'll try that, I'm just not used to uploding my work to my computer. And those two you said were the ones I had a clearer idea about and I guess I might be more attached to them, thank you ^^

Stuff.

More collab. stuff. I took quite long because this was my first time inking digitally and I had to redo quite a lot because some lines were wobbly as hell, I sort of got used to it but well, it's still far from the lineart I would like, I guess I'll keep practicing.

1rst half the cast from the collab, some I have already showed though I did change the slicked back hair. Uhm, I kind of doodled later before sending it to the co-author xD. He thought "dracula" should be a little different, I do like how he truned out in the end though. This version also has a lack of scribbles =P
Image
uh and a sketch from when I modified with pencil version next to it (and fail coloring because I didn't take note of the paper¬¬ kind of why I scanned it and procedeed with digital even though I'm quite unfamiliar. I will be using the tablet regularly in month or so, so I guess it's good it turned out this way, I'm having fun also).

That's it really.

Re: Sky's comfy haven [At least one miserable scribble a day]

Postby SkyWithFluffyclouds » July 6th, 2013, 9:21 pm

What happened to February? I'm awful. I really need to be more consistent and start uploading things too, or else nobody's going to see anything and then I won't have any input about what I'm doing, just my own opinion and that just won't do I think.

So I'm going to try, no, I'm going to do this, at least once a day even if it's just a miserable scribble even if it's uploaded as a crappy photo like this one v

Today's scribble

Illumination thingie

And then why the hell not, old stuff that I already had in imageshackbut isn't here
(this one was suposed to be part of the 24 hour challenge.... ¬¬ I wil try again, don't think I won't)

Something I did at the beginning of the school year, in october I think.

And this guy, a D&D hobbit

So yeah, tomorrow I'll be back.

So this is the only thing I could bring myself to do today, face doodles *sigh* but at least I picked up the pencil, so for now this works, it guilts me into picking it up once a day. I'm in a slump this sucks. Here you go:

Quick scribbles while watching tv.

Also, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow I might not have time to upload so I'll probably be back with something Sunday.

It's nice to see someone draw every day. Keep it up!
what I noticed is, that you sometimes draw the eyes to close together. So be aware of that, maybe do some photo studies. :)
