As in it seriously ruins the composition, or because it looks like jizz and you can't stop staring at it?

It's not jizz? Well THAT ruins it! Nah, the composition is fine and you're right on the latter, plus left in dirty pondering on whether that was part of the reference photo (unless you used a mirror), which released a load more thoughts

Also I now just noticed the subliminal penis from the smaller avatar version. I saw that coming.

I noticed the penis yesterday, but that was unintentional. Shows where my mind is, I guess.

I used a mirror, but the highlights (what those are supposed to be) are meant to resemble the slimy textures in the Thing. I should go back and refine this so there are more slimy highlights, maybe some from the secondary light source too.

Spoiler! :

New character for my Union City stories (Vessel, etc are part of that). Matthew Blanc. He has monster goop under his command which theoretically gives him awesome superpowers, but it's kind of a pain to use.

This looks really cool (especially the monster stuff)...he also looks like he might punch me for saying "hello" on the street. XD

You're not too far off. He's usually a nice guy, but having painful super powers has some negative effects on people.

Looks like there's some heavy Prototype influence in that one, haha. I like it. :D

Haha, probably. Oddly, it was inFAMOUS that I was playing before I drew it, but... same thing, different colour scheme, right? Don't get me wrong, I really like both of those games and look forward to getting the sequels.

I really need to draw his monster goop as it looks like when in use rather than when he's trying to be intimidating ):

Ah, I don't know if I've replied here before, but I love what you do with lines vs painting in your art? Like, the lines are not too prominent but well-rendered enough that is contributes to making the drawing as a whole more coherent. It's so pretty *_*

hundreds: Whah thank you! Lines are a good shortcut for when I don't want to make a full painted illustration thing <3 ...which is just about always these days.

Haven't been drawing recently, but here's a UC sketch. A design for Gabriel's feet.

This is a story based on a dream that I'd like to develop, but I don't actually know whether I'll get anywhere with it.

Character concepts:
Spoiler! :

[The image is pretty wide, click it to see the full version!]

These two travel together in a rather small spaceship that can barely hold enough fuel to get from one moon to the next. Fortunately, the story finds them in a moon system that contains about a third of all the human colonies in their star system.
The girl is 4'7", the guy is 5'6", both probably in their twenties because every main character ever that doesn't need to be super-experienced is in their twenties. No names yet.
She's a pilot, and has a suit of armour fashioned after old pictures of shiny things she found in a digital library. I'm not yet sure how much use it sees, though I imagine not much. She generally just relies on her mechanic for bodyguardin' - and that's what he does best. He's decent with a wrench and the on-board computer, but he feels far more at home with a knife in one hand and a gun in the other. ...while thinking he is a pacifist.

An earlier concept:
Spoiler! :

Terraformer female, probably about 4' tall.
Copypasta from Tumblr:
-----------------------------------------------------
Concept for the general form of a type of humans in the story. They don’t figure prominently in it, but they’re around.

They’re the result of genetic meddling and controlled breeding with the aim to provide a self-sustaining source of flexible but affordable labour for planets/moons in the mid-late stages of terraforming that are not yet comfortable/safe for normal human settlers. They’re cheaper and more robust than properly-equipped humans. In fact, they’re so common in that field that “terraformer” has become largely synonymous with them.

They form the bulk of the lower class and outside of the prejudice relating to that, they’re actually treated largely the same as “normal” humans in most places, particularly the more recently colonized planets.

Hybrids are common, but are generally not recognized as such due to generally looking like one or the other rather than a mix. “Normal” children born to terraformer parents have also happened, but are uncommon as this tends to be due to hormonal issues (the characteristic ears and stature of the terraformers is linked to hormones).
-----------------------------------------------------

The dream itself was a sort of intro to their story, and I tried to thumbnail that today. Sadly, going beyond the thumbnails destroyed me, as I'm still art-blocked :/ So here's what I have, with some quickie speech bubbles added:

Not happy with the colour crap on page 1 at all, I'll probably start over if/when I get back to this.

I'll be putting these in Spoiler tags later. If you quote, please put the images in spoilers for the sake of others <3

Concept aside, to me the roughed-out pages have a Quentin Tarantino kind of action vibe. Pulp Fiction–style dialog might be a fun way to go if you're into such things.
