So, a couple of days ago, my fiancé and I were discussing Dragon Age. Specifically, lyrium. Specifically, the fact that every source of information goes on about how dangerous lyrium is, and that in its unprocessed form, it's more or less instantly fatal to mages. Yet, during certain fights, you can run up to it and give it a quick rub to regain some mana.

This inspired a certain drawing concept. Which I told YakkitySax about yesterday, and her response was "Doitdoitdoit!" followed by "Now!" So, I obeyed, and spent two hours last night drawing it out. And then pretty much all of today colouring it.

Drawing without looking at my hand actually isn't too big a deal at all, considering how long I've been colouring with a mouse. My biggest issue right now is that I keep trying to lift my hand and move it over, like I would with a mouse. That makes things interesting. Considering I've owned it a total of 2 hours now, I'm pretty happy with my progress.

Here's a slightly larger version of my inked piece for this last round of the collab. Not 100% happy with her face and hair, but in general I feel really good about it. The eyelashes are the only bit from the original sketch that's still visible, because I tend to fail at eyelashes.
