I think the main issue is actually the positioning of the upper arm. The most natural way for it to lie is beside the body, but the way you've drawn it in is leaning closer to the front. That makes it looks like the elbow is bending backwards.

huh...
things get more complicated when I try drawing positions I don't draw much. (recalls the large stack of forgotten library anatomy books stuffed under the couch)

February 16th:
Does this count as drawing something? :/

I got this idea to draw shadows. And then I redraw the grid several times to try finding a perspective that looks 'good'. (by the way, this isn't lined paper. The lines are from me drawing and erasing.) I think this one looks reasonably okay. At first, the left person's head looked huge to me, but then I moved the vanishing point farther away and it doesn't look as noticeable now.
Any tips for the perspective or the poses would be nice. I think maybe they should lean a little inward, from the pull of each other, but I haven't worked it out all the way yet, because I wanted to make sure the perspective was okay first. (but I don't know what to do with their arms - besides the ones held together)
...I might move them a little farther away from each other. They look a little too close to the center here, to me.

I finished that picture I was working on yesterday. Which is part of the comic page I didn't get up today... I got somewhere between a third and a half of the way done on the page. I might've been able to finish it, but I was away for several hours (and I forgot where I kept my stash of comic-cut paper, so this morning I was looking everywhere, and flinching whenever a wrong move would make my back hurt. ...Shopping isn't just bad on your feet... My feet quit hurting yesterday afternoon, but then my back started hurting, whenever I stand up, or lean over the wrong way.)

I-It took all day! D: How did it take that long? v_v I had it half finished yesterday!

Edit: I switched the image with a version without some of the dialogue

I kind'a ended up reading several Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfics on fanfiction.net today (instead of doing other things). So, I decided to draw my favorite character, Kaiba.
...but, although I used to draw him all the time, I haven't drawn him much in several years and I forget how to draw him. D: So the two sketches I did look really bad. v_v (I never could get his hair to look right, though - too much detail. It's just his facial structure that I'm confused about, since I forget exactly how Yu-Gi-Oh! does faces)

February 20th:
I'm finishing re-reading Living Arrow's old fanfics. I barely remember them. I feel as though I have such a bad memory. ^_^" I really liked most of her first ones, but the last few she did, I just don't like.
So, I drew a picture of Mokuba this time. (mainly because he's the main character in the fic I'm re-reading now)
He's easier to draw than Kaiba, even though I hardly ever drew him... But, right before I scanned it, I flipped the page over and noticed he was sideways. Why do my drawings always end up sideways when I draw them with their arm up? :/ And I noticed that his face looks too narrow after I scanned it. Still better than yesterday's pictures of Kaiba, though.

February 22nd:
I tried reading in one of the anatomy books I borrowed from the library awhile back. Got through the section about the bones of the upper limb (the book does a pretty good job with those), but the muscles of the upper limb section is really confusing, and I started doing something else and never did get back to it.
(mild warning for nudity)

Some time in the distant future, that will become the bare minimum for nudity. I don't know how that would be possible, but they'll figure it out by then.

Although the hands don't look too detailed, probably because you didn't want to spend too much time on drawing every bone and focused on the full shape, as a whole it looks great.

The worst nudity would be showing the pelvis bone. They will always blur that out in the future. (no wait... there must be something worse than that...)
I didn't try very hard on the hands. They just didn't seem important to me. I probably should've tried harder on the finger parts, though.

I had it done before 11:54, but my computer doesn't want me to get it online. D:
Continuing what I did earlier. I wanted to draw all the muscles of the arm, but I ran out of time and thought I'd better stop for now. (if anyone notices, let me know if I got anything wrong. I had to look up most of them online for better pictures, and it's still a little iffy)

I tried doing some 30-second drawings on posemaniacs.com (I also worked on a comic page, but thought I'd post this, instead)

It's so hard drawing anything that fast! D: But I kept wanting to try drawing some other pose that came up.
(I also partly got the idea from this thread, which I find interesting: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7123 )

February 25th:
I worked on today's comic page most of the day. And I liked how several things turned out, so I thought I'd show them. And, I rearranged them so that it's impossible to tell what's going on unless you read the comic (well, it's another spoiler thing).
I made sketches for the page yesterday, but I did adjust some pictures (that first picture's details were came up with today. I only did sloppy sketches of it yesterday) and do shading.
Image
I like how his left hand (on the right) turned out in that first pic, and the other hand just wouldn't turn out as good, even after I tried adjusting it a few times. I think it's because of the pinkie. That line seems to mess me up with the finger placement. I also liked how his eye turned out in the next picture. The bottom picture's perspective is off with the girl in the foreground, but I couldn't figure out how to fix it, because I drew her first (and because I didn't want to cut off her head or something).

February 26th:
My brother asked me to draw the final getsuga from Bleach, so I sketched that today. (hopefully the name didn't spoil anything... But, it's out in the anime now, so it's not much of a spoiler anymore. I used a clip I found on youtube to see what he looked like, by the way)
Surprisingly, when I flip it, I think it looks pretty much the same. Except that I digitally moved the eye in the foreground after scanning it, because when I flipped it in Photoshop, it looked like he wasn't looking in the right direction.
Spoiler! :
Image
hmm... first time I drew him there, but I did draw a picture in September, from right before that, when this stuff first came out in the manga. (Edit: Actually, now that I think of it, I thought of starting a sketchbook thread at that time, to see what people thought of that picture)

February 27th (slightly late):
I thought I'd work on a sunset type of picture. After I drew it, I didn't notice it was so close to 12, and I thought I'd go ahead and color it, and then it was a little past 12 when I finished coloring it. >_>" I was originally going to try making it in Photoshop, but it froze up on me, so I drew it on paper, then colored it in Photoshop.
ImageImage
...I still don't think it looks quite right... Not sure what I'm doing wrong, though.
