In passing I thought the fourth one down was picture of Jon Stewart.

Man, what a worthless sketchbook...had to rescue it from the last page. Well, here's a little update of a very old drawing I did a few years ago.

The non-realistic ones are pretty sameface, and all of them come off as mostly flat. I think you need to practice more with blocking out shades, and on your values. Obvious recommendation to fix any problem is more life drawing. Focus on portraiture.

Most recent picture has too big of a head, although the face seems to pop out a lot more than others. The hands are better than expected, but the fingers seem a bit small.

All your stuff shares this fuzziness like its unfinished, except the one with the ocean, in which the only part that looks like that is the background.

Funny story about the hands--my drawings of hands used to be the worst things on the face of the earth, but thanks to a lot of practice in my last few figure drawing classes, I do okay, now. Portraiture is my current focus, actually.

Anyway, shading/anatomy practice:

Nice :) The shading seems to work at making him look 3D as far as I can tell, which is good? Although it's probably just me, but his head seems big for his body somehow.

Yes, "big head syndrome" unfortunately tends to be a recurring theme in my drawings ><

Try rotating the picture a bit. He seems off balance.

Big images ahead. This stuff is scanned straight from my school notebook.

Edit: images were getting cut off by the forum so I'm just providing the links and thumbnails.
