Actually it matches perfectly with the original logo o.o

Also, i don't think ALL the 3d games were THAT bad, i rather enjoy Shadow The Hedgehog for the PS2

Nothin' wrong with that, but just be careful about saying it. You'll likely be chastised at every turn by the majority of Sonic fans. XD
I admit, I did enjoy certain parts of it. Mainly the soundtrack and the final boss fight.
I Still like SA2 the most though.

Honestly i think the biggest problem people had with the Shadow game was that it was completely based on Shadow. They felt that SEGA was making Sonic unimportant. Appearantly most old-school fans tend to forget about Knuckles Chaotix and the Tails games plus Meanbean machine rather quickly when it comes to bashing Shadow. Also if it's the gun thing they don't like, take a look at Nack/Fang.

Back on topic, I'm one of the fans that foolishly still has hope for the return of Mighty and hopes for him to show up in a new-school game and this one could be that one. ^_^ It's not the character i like but rather the potential. I mean, a Sonic look-alike that's got strength instead? that could be a nice plot-point.

Though i have a hard time getting all too excited, we haven't seen gameplay or screenshots yet.

My biggest quarrel with the game was actually the levels.
I liked Shadow enough to deal with him stealing Sonic's lime light for a game, but something about the level designs annoyed me...

Anyways, yeah sorry for staying off-topic. XD
I'll be quiet now gaiz. X3

Nothing wrong with that. Topic derailing is common, the topic will probably come back once we actually hear something about the game.

Speaking of topics, this topic is now about Sonic the Hedgehog, past and future games.

The difference being that Nack/Fang carried a little pop gun that shot corks. Shadow the Hedgehog swore up a storm, shooting police officers with a sub machine gun, riding a hijacked motorcycle in his quest for vengeance featuring soundtrack by scenic heavy metal band Powerman 5000.

...Alright, I can't let that quote go by without making fun of it. Here are my responses (in order of Top 10):

10. It's actually pretty easy, it's called, "As long as it makes money, we don't care."
9. What about a leaf blower? Oh wait, wrong concept. Or IS it?
8. It's a vacuum for a reason!
7. Doesn't stop people from buying it!
6. Tell that to strip clubs. (That was in bad taste, I know)
5. It only sucks if you didn't smile at it even once. That includes laughing at its stupidity.
4. Orly?
3. Just ask McDonald's, they'll tell you.
2. Yeah, tell that to Nintendo's internet.

and the number one response is:
1. Microsoft anyone?

Play me off, Paul! Kudos to anyone who gets the reference. Though if you know the show and don't know the reference by now, that's a shame. I played out the entire thing! xD

As a basic 3d Platformer, Shadow The Hedgehog was an okay game. Not something great and outstanding but i certainly doesn't deserve the hate it gets either IMHO. It's a good little game for folks like me who didn't happen to own a Dreamcast and weren't able to play SA2 and therefore only knew Shadow as the black hedgehog from Sonic Heroes.

Sonic and The Secret Rings is the only game i've raged about, due to awful controls. (I haven't played The Black Knight yet)

Honestly, i can't help but think that SEGA is pulling all of us in the leg and this turns out to be nothing more than a 3D remake of the original game. Kinda like the Turtles in Time remake.

Hey guys! Remember this game? Sega's been updating their blog about it, or rather, crossing out names of who's not in it. Here's the most recent pic:

Image

Currently, Shade (from Sonic Chronicles), Amy, Tikal, Chip (from Sonic Unleashed), Charmy Bee, and Vector have been crossed out. It says on their blog that today's final day, which is weird because Big and Froggy are still in and Knuckles and Tails aren't even on that list. MORE INFORMATION SEGA!

Oh dear. I have a horrible sinking feeling that they're gonna cross Sonic off the list and make this "Mr Needlemouse" the entire basis of the game.

They've done stuff like this before! Look at Shadow the Hedgehog!

Darn it, Sega, after ten years of beating me with a lead pipe, you've left me cynical and jaded.

Well, I think that list is just who may NOT be in the game. Doesn't necessarily mean whoever's not on isn't getting in. If they're dumping Tails and Knuckles, then NO ONE but Sonic will be in it...Which I really wouldn't mind a single bit.

So there's still hope for Pikachu in a Sombrero!

I think that Mr. Needlemouse thing is just a ploy to through people off. I think I heard that Mr. needlemouse was Sonic's working title before they settled on, well, Sonic. Still excited to see this. The most recent sonic game that didn't suck in my opinion was Chronicles.

Ah, exciting! I've played all the new Sonic games, and the are absolutely HORRIBLE! I have most of the old games and I still play them time to time, I must say I like them a lot more.

The sonic games for the GameCube haven't been to bad either. (DX director's Cut, and Adventure 2 battle) I think it all started to go downhill when Sonic Riders came out.
