I'm sorry, but IMHO FF XIII and FF XIII-2 are the worst games of the whole franchise. The battle system is whack, the story and most of the characters are dull, and it's so linear.

The only good thing that came out from the series is Hope and Sazh.

To be fair they're working on both. They're worked on simultaneously because Versus development is handled by the KH team, and XIII/XIII-2/XIII-3 are worked on by a different team, so development doesn't stop for other titles. If XIII and it's sequels didn't exist Versus would really speed up, it would just leave a chunk of the 1st Production Department twiddling their thumbs.
Hell, I don't even think the Versus team stopped for BBS or KH3D, I'm pretty sure it's just Nomura that has to hover between teams.



And I'll get back on topic with more Lightning x Hope for lack of anything more interesting to post;

Iunno, after making a sequel to a core entry they might as well just go full trilogy. No turning back now, I just hope it doesn't become a trend. I don't mind it this time as long as we don't see XV-2.

XIII is a step up from XII.

THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT. XII was a fuckin mess. The battle system was annoying and weird, the characters had the fashion sense of a 15 year old girl with daddy problems and personally I couldn't even begin to care about them or their struggles. Hell the gambit system was a retarded Idea. You needed a freakin license to WEAR A HAT MADE OF LEATHER. The game was horrible. XIII AT LEAST took it back to Random Battles in some way and developed at least 2 of it's characters well.
