On one hand, WB pulled another dick move. On the other hand, maybe they sent it to the wrong George Miller.

Spoiler! :
The joke being that there's another George Miller and he's better known as Filthy Frank.

Wham bam what an autumn but I'll try to be more active here!

And yeah, I'd love to take part in a Secret Santa this year buuut it's really not the time I should attempt any administrative duties, I am barely administrating myself. :P

Can you imagine what the guy who invented the guillotine was thinking?

"You know, if we have a bloody revolution we won't be able to kill people fast enough with guns or swords. If only there was some machine that could kill people in like 20 seconds like an automatic abattoir or something."

I believe that person was actually a doctor who invented it as a more humane/clean execution method since executions with a sword or axe could take multiple strokes and make a big mess. I doubt he was expecting that it'd make people a lot more execution-happy.

Well, Molly and I make two; if Kevansevans is down, there's our three right there. (That's if you guys are still down to roll).

I guess we hit the sweet spot of still being interested in the medium, and social media sites like tumblr/twitter weren't as huge yet so people were still joining messageboards. Just odd that we're all still here and fairly active- not that there's tons of us (maybe a dozen? i can't check member stats atm) but that it's so concentrated in that year.

Are we all in about the same age bracket-ish? I was in my third year of undergrad when I signed up.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I can't remember how I found the site or why exactly I signed up. But I do remember following Mokepon from pretty early on. I think I'd been lurking for a while before signing up properly. And now I'm kind of sad about all the comics I read in 2010/2011 that have disappeared since then.

I was 15 back in 2010, but I guess that still puts us within a decade of each other? I'm starting my Master's degree this year.

I remember finding it through Yahoo! Answers, of all places. Asked about a hosting site and was directed here. It was a happy accident, and I'm glad that person got me here.

I joined in September of that same year, and I had just graduated high school (I turned 19 that fall), so that puts you about four years behind me. Most of the other regulars, from what I understand, are roughly about the same age, maybe within a year or two of me.

I wonder if the revolutionists used a guillotine to cut the cake Marie Antoinette told them to eat.

I think I mentioned this on my old account once, but a friend of mine was hosting comics here for a year or so before I met her. When she saw I was making comics (I kept in an old binder and carried everywhere), she showed me Smackjeeves. I've been trying desperately to figure out doing anything online ever since. XD

Sure, I'm down. Given how late in the month it is, though, we might have to do something on a way smaller scale. :\

Molly-sama (here from 09) - If anyone was waiting on my comic just know its deletion was entirely by accident. : | It's here, but it will be back on SJ soon.

You're walking in the forest and you come across this tree, and it's laying down. So there's this tree laying down, but if nobody hears it, did it even fall? Maybe it was always like that. You wasn't there to see it fall, you can't "prove" it fell. You just take as given that when you see a tree on the ground that it fell, but the Matrix could have been programmed with that tree laying down.

All you have to do is build a flux capacitor, strap it into your car and go back in time over and over again until you reach a period in time when the tree wasn't laying down and you'll be able to prove that it did fall. Easy peasy.

But can you trust your eyes?
Is the tree real or just a sum of all your sensory perceptions?
Your brain concludes because of all collected data that the tree is real ...but is it?

Robert Ludlum was such a dedicated author that he was able to keep writing books for five years after he had died. That's impressive.

Either that or the time it takes to publish a book is ridiculously long.

It has dawned on me I spend more time worrying about how many easter eggs and references I can shove into any of my game projects than the time I dedicate to making the actual game.

Having the motivation to go above and beyond and get ahead of my work, but not having the energy to actually make it reality. -_-

Yesterday I was supposed to go to the library to chip away at some work but by the time the day ended I was several hours into a no-nonsense headache and had to just come home and crash. I got done the work I needed to do, but not the rest of the stuff I wanted to have done ahead of time.

Today is a new day, so possibilities exist for not sucking, but I could barely roll my ass over to put my glasses on this morning so I don't believe I'll get an energy surge later, unfortunately.

Music today is shit.

"Singers" (they prefer to be called "artists" even though they are mass-market corporate properties) can't sing, they're all autotuned, and no one makes music anymore, like no one plays an instrument. No one plays the drums or a guitar, all music today is nothing but distortion. It sounds like shit. Any idiot can get a computer program and distort noise and autotune a dude who looks like a chick or a chick with huge tits, and presto, get a "song". The five corporations that own 90% of all media discovered that if you play shit music enough times you can trick the brain into thinking it likes it. It's a thousand times easier than actually discovering people with talent who work at producing music. Sure, some people on Youtube make music, and the metal scene is still pretty pure, but most other music is shit.
