I have to wake up at 4 AM and get micromanaged to death about the correct way to put a bag on a shelf to make all of $80 a week.

I mean it depends on how specific we're talking, but I don't wanna be semantic. I believe JoKeR has made mention of this situation in the past, too.

I just called it "ideas" because no one can reinvent the wheel ...but, if someone takes your characters (I mean the charactersitics as well) and scenes and parts of your world setting and mix them up and makes a good selling serial comic out if it... THIS is frustrating.

Ok, as Seven already wrote, I mentioned this issue already sometime in the past. It's a manga and got published two years later than my printed version of Book2 ...I was first happy to see that someone others than me have a fable for this kind of ear design. I begun to read the manga and was surprised to see that the main character (an Elf boy) looked like a mix of my main (Nirrod) and the black haired second main (Reju) character. And behaved like a mix of those two as well. Then a little young sidekick appeared with blond hair, it was a human girl. But the little brother of my main C. (Riaud) got confused in the past often for a girl.
After a few pages a big swordsman with a huge blade got added to the cast ...yes of course he had a eyepatch over his left eye. And a Ninja like young black haired antagonist got added.
Flying ships, two moons... etc.
All this could be a huuuge coincidence. But that uncomfortable feeling did build up with ever page.
Then ...scenes and camera angles. For example, the big wall and gate from the current city in the story.
Dark ship silhouettes against the twin moons. Positions and constructions of a scene where two bad guys discuss.

All this is just too much ...the artist must have seen my work and picked everything he seemed to like and made his own story. So, my ideas were good ... but not for me.

And now did I see another comic (a new web comic) where are similarities to my characters and behaviour of them. And a similar very important "dream" sequence.
This things where not included in the 2004 printed version but in the edited online version here on SJ.

And that's why my feelings are in turmoil ...I don't know if I should like it or being outraged... or if I'm just fooling myself.

Having not read your comic or seen the others, the things you described all sound like common tropes in fantasy stories, so it doesn't sound unreasonable that they'd have a selection of the same specific-sounding features in their comic. It is possible that they copied from your work, but even then, I still feel like execution is the hard part. If they did it better, they earned it.
That said, I think it's justified to feel frustrated and angry! But I also think you can use this as an opportunity to learn how to improve your own work. What did they do with those ideas that was more effective than your take on them? It's difficult to put away the frustration and envy, but if you can, you can learn a lot from this. I haven't experienced that level of uncanny similarity myself, but I'm always glad to see people inspired by the same things I am and try to do similar stories to mine, because I can learn from their mistakes.

Add blood, gore, sex and rape... Then you get this other manga story. :?
...imagine, my comic with that kind of cute characters is blended together with Berserk-level of explicit brutality.

And no, I'm not really that angry about this competing other webcomic ...I really enjoy to read it.
It's just this "again??" feeling.
Maybe I make a fanart of his character just to signal them that I read their stuff.

Rant of the perpetually tired-

I have company coming in an hour or so and am too tired to get my shit together and like get dressed and stuff. I'm also super cranky and wish I was in a better mood since this is one of my best friends who I see only 2-3 times a year.
I also have "realized" that before the school year starts in ~2 weeks, I only have 2 actual days to myself where I don't have to do anything, see anyone, go anywhere. Where did this summer go???????
I'd like to think that once the semester gets underway, things will fall into place and I'll have more free time. But I also have tons of shit to do this semester, mostly involving this huge project that we must complete in order to graduate & receive certification.

I know I'll have free time, but looking at the calendar it looks like lazy days of spending the afternoon reading in my backyard are over.

Tonight sucks. Really bad. For once it's not me or my own life getting me down, though. Bad stuff going down with a friend and it's got me stressing out. I'm worried, but there's nothing I can do but sit here and wait.

Well, I'm pretty bummed I can't go to college this year. My school district fucked me over when it came to giving my transcripts to verify grants/scholarships. With only the Pell grant that paid for $5k to a $30k school. I wasn't able to get a private loan either, I don't have a good cosigner. So I terminated my attendance. Now, after 2 months of my old hs being lazy, I learn I had a total of $17k in grants. I'm pissed. I coul've gone to a cheaper school and have it paid for. Next year I'm hoping to attend an $18k trade school. I just don't want to get fucked over again. I feel like my life is stagnant. I want to leave home. All my friends have run off to school. And I'm stuck here. Knowing my luck next year there will be some bs reason to not give me the grants.

Maybe you should take a few weeks break and come back to it. I find that helps. Maybe finding a new location, travelling. I went to Seaside for a week a while ago, I think the new scenery helped with my sketches. It's no fun not having improved, like you've reached your peak. Copying works you admire might help too. By copying another piece you can get an idea of how the artist went about their linework, shading, anatomy, etc. I know some people look down at copying, but it's been practiced for centuries. I hope this helps give you a few ideas on how to move forward. It is frustrating.

Thank you for the advice. I actually relaxed a bit by the riverside today and I feel eager to draw again. Maybe a break actually helps sometimes :)

Went to bed insanely early, woke up... not insanely but reasonably early. It's my first day of school and I'm feeling a little nervous, and eating breakfast at this hour so soon after I wake up makes my tummy feel weird and that also adds to the anxiety.

(I usually wake up and drink a single cup of coffee for like an hour and a half, then 2-3 hours after I woke up the hunger kicks in... but I am now at the age where I actually do have to eat breakfast before I do anything that requires effort or I start to get hangry... and with the setup I am in, can't just at 10:00 in the morning while the kids are doing their reading whip out an egg sandwach and eat it over them)

Tummy wiggles. :( :(

Dear Whoever is in charge of the weather,

-1) Stop pelting the southeast U.S. and the Caribbean with hurricanes; they've had one hit already and have three more big ones inbound; they don't need more.
-2) Send some of that excess rain to the Pacific Northwest so we can get those ungodly wildfires under control.
-3) Please stop being a dick.
