Post Reviews Here

A board designated for full, article-length reviews of webcomics, local or foreign.
Forum rules
How things work around here:

    1) Webcomics get nominated for review in the Nominations for Review forum.
    2) People pick a webcomic to review and commit to writing an article-quality review of the comic by posting in its nomination thread.
    3) When complete, the review gets posted here, in the main forum.

Can we nominate someone else's comic? There's a comic I want to nominate, but it's by another author. My comic is still in need of an artist.

Why would you want to find someone to review a comic that isn't yours? Not only is that silly, it's also rude unless you get that comic author's permission. In in the case that you do, why can't they just nominate it for a review anyway?

General laziness. That's why I nominated someone elses' a while ago, anyway. XD (Well...more like she was doing homework across the table from me, but you know...)

So how does this work? Can we only review comics submitted in the "Nominations for Review" or can we review any webcomic here? How do you review? If you can only review what's in that board, do you just say "I'll review it!" and do it?

Well pretty much yes. You review whomever requests a review considering some (like me) aren't ready to have their work reviewed or they just simply don't want a review because they don't care and are simply doing it for their mere enjoyment. You don't have to tell them that you're reviewing it (although it's nice to let them know either before or after you post your review). So yeah I hoped that answered your questions ^_^

I think I understand. What if someone didn't post in the review nomination board, but I literally asked them straight up via PM "Can I review your webcomic?" and they said "Yes!" could I still do it?

Are there specific bumping rules for the Nominations for Review board?

Like, bump once a month if no response, or something?

No specific rules, but the general etiquette seems to be not to bump until your post falls off page 1.

Uhhh...I'm going to guess the answer to that would probably be "no" because wouldn't that be just a tad biased and more like trying to promote yourself?

i though like that to.

Can there be a rule where there's a minimum of say: 20 pages. It feels weird reading reviews for comics that are only like 8 pages long and not much to go on story wise?

Some people want to know whether their story has started out well- is the introduction gripping enough? Does the art seem strong? and want to know if there's anything glaringly immediate they need to improve on. You can always skip reviewing the stories you feel are too short and wait until they're longer if you so choose to :)

While it can be difficult to comment on the story aspect, there are still other areas that can be critiqued in a sapling comic.
