Recommendations for cartoon-styled comics

Postby lonk » December 11th, 2010, 7:16 am

As the title says, I'm looking for cartoon-y comics that are either action/adventure or slice of life.

Stuff I've read already:

-Bone

-Scott Pilgrim, Lost at Sea

-War at Ellsmere, Zombie Calling

-Persepolis

-Love Rockets

-Box Office Poisson

-Pictures of You

-Roboot Dreams

-Sleepwalk and other Stories

-Scrooge McDuck comics

Thanks

Would Lackadaisy count? It's not really cartoony, but the characters are all anthropomorphic cats, which gives it a bit of a cartoon feel. Also, the story is a bit of action, but mostly noir.
... Other than that I got nothing. I haven't really read many cartoony western action comics that you haven't already listed. XD

OMG U READ PERSEPOLIS!? THAT BOOK WAS AMAZING! I downloaded the movie too.

anywho, cartoon-styled comics id suggest-

-CHEW <- this is the biggest one id suggest if ur only interested in actioney adventure stuff like u said
-SQUEE/fillerbunny/jthm
-Jellyfist
-Chumble Spuzz
-Lenore
-persepolis part 2 incase u only read part 1!

thats all that i can think of like for published comics cuz im not too into published comics cuz most of them suck dick and are overrated.
FOR WEBCOMICS. My suggestion would be Sam & Fuzzy cuz thats what im reading right now and its amazing.

Another lover of Persepolis here. I agree with Mosama, LENORE LENORE LENORE!!!

I would just add King Cat (which is so simple that it's almost not even cartoony, just...simple) and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

Fantastic, I needed new comics to read :D, thanks everyone who posted!

@mosama: I AGREE, LOVED IT and have read pt2, got so hooked on it I went straight to reading it after finishing the first book, thanks for the other suggestions!

@AsinineAxiom: Ah I've read that too and another one of his work, "Goodbye, Chunky Rice". good stuff :)

@monadology: Thanks, will check those out. King Cat's simplicity looks good =D, reminds me of "Le petit prince", one of my favourite book as a child.

The Goon. It's not always cartoony, but it's still a super fun book.

My style is a cartoonish style and by all means an adventure the first two chapters are exposition setting and intoruces important characters who will appear at certain points. The third starts off the story as far as the main character and plot...
