MARCH MADNESS! A Personal Challenge!

What is MARCH MADNESS! ?

MARCH MADNESS! is an event of sorts similar to National Novel Writing Month. A community of people will take on the MARCH MADNESS! challenge starting March 1st and ending March 31st.

The Challenge

The challenge itself is simple and straightforward: draw a page of a comic for each day of the month. Simple enough, but for a lot of us it's hard to get by with a page a day. That's why I added a few exceptions.

The Rules

-This is not a contest of any kind. It's a personal battle of your own will. You can drop out at any time.
-Don't worry too much about the quality. The aim here is to just get a page done a day.
-Pages do not require color or tones to be called 'done'. Ink is preferred, but if you just do pencil that's fine too. So long as each page qualifies as a comic page to you. (This should include dialogue!)
-So long as there are 31 pages done by the end, it doesn't matter if you do like... 5 pages one day and rest for 4 days. Whatever suits you and your schedule!
-Feel free to do more than 31 if you can. ^^
-They don't have to be completely new comic series. In fact, I'd encourage choosing to do one comic series one day and another the next, to keep things interesting so you don't drop out!
-Must join the official MARCH MADNESS comic account!

That all being said, I know what you're probably thinking...why do this nonsense?!

Benefits

-First off, there are bound to be those that drop out. Think of how great it'll feel to know you perservered in the challenge? Ego boost! I know some artist here could use that, with their abilities.
-Think about it. Slow moving comic? Need buffer? Not anymore! Your watchers will cheer you on for giving them more of what they want!
-With the Smackies around the corner, 31 pages would be more than enough to get your comic nominateable in time! (I think...)
- Comics who do complete the entire 31 days, will have their comic featured in the next news post.

To get Comic featured in the next news post: Czar Squid will check the comics made on April 1, 2010 on the Offical March Madness site. You must completed 31 pages worth of comics before 5:00am EST. Comics who make 27-30 pages will be featured as honorable mentions.

So, feel free to step up to the challenge. Worst you can say is you tried. But I guess there is one more question...

Anyways, what say you guys that I start a webcomic account for this? It may help to spread the word around a bit better, and any/all that wanted to participate could apply for co-author so they could add in the comics as time went on?

I think it's a good idea to host a comic for this. Then we can keep tabs on all the author in this March Madness. Plus we can put a sample page of each our comics.

I've crashed and burned on two comics internet wise and I have countless abandoned babies lying around in a myriad of folders. I think I'll join as an excersize to figure out exactly what I want to do with comicking. Or something to that matter. :3
