Ho Ho Ho. As you know, the time is coming once again for the Smack Jeeves Secret Santa. Well ok, it's not even Halloween yet, but the early bird gets the worm, and so it's time to send the call for volunteers to help make this year a success.

As with last year there are two types of elves needed:

Head Elves:[CLOSED] They will be responsible for the administrative functions of the Secret Santa. They will be required to organise and split jobs between themselves, set up the webcomic profile, organise the secret santas (matching up, PMing, answering queries), upload the gifts (and link user profiles), Organise the Gift Elves, and deal with scrooges and rule breakers. In order to make self-organisation easier, the number of these is limited to about three.

Gift Elves: They will be responsible for making gifts for those scrooged by their secret santa.

Both of these roles are extremely important, so please volunteer only if you feel you have the time and dedication to do this. In particular reference to the Gift Elves, please don't take this task lightly, as the people you'll be making gifts for will have been scrooged already, and it'll be awful for them to be double-scrooged. In line with this, Cookieluv246, DreamClaw and Mamorii will not be allowed to take part as Gift Elves this year. They may still take part normally however.

If you are interested please reply on this thread, stating which type of elf you'd like to be. Gift Elf applications will be considered by the Head elves (with elves being informed probably two weeks before the due date), and Head Elf applications will be considered until midnight GMT of the 25th of October, and results posted here by the 28th at latest, if not earlier.

I'll be a Gift Elf once again, it was fun to do as one in the last one.

I'd like to be a Head Elf, but right now i'm not sure if i'll be able to do as one, since i don't know yet if i have finals those days or not.

I advise to put up sign ups for the Gift elves two weeks or a week before Christmas rather than now when your gathering helpers.
The problem we had last year was that gift elves often forgot their duties or had plans they couldnt foresee and double scrooged their respective partners (of which i had to pick up numerous of their slack).

We want to make sure they do their duties and are absolutely sure they can make the deadline.

Ho Ho Ho. Following xkrazydog's useful point, I've made an amendment to the original post. Rather than gift elves being chosen now, it will be done around two weeks before the due date, in case anything comes up or they forget they are awaiting calls to help scrooge victims. This will be another task for the head elves.
