Mirror Mirror or Snow White And Huntsmen?

So, coming out soon are two extremely similar movies. By that I mean two Snow White movies are coming out that couldn't look more opposite.

The first, "Mirror Mirror" looks like one of the most god awful movies ever made. I plan to see it.

The second, "Snow White and the Huntsmen" looks decent. The big problem I see is Kristen Stewart. It looks like it could be a lot like Red Riding Hood, which would be a sad thing. But it's definitely the superior of the two movies.

The Huntsman has Thor, but it also has Twilight girl. I don't know what genius came up with that casting choice. That just makes me want to avoid her horrible acting at all cost.

Oh jesus that first one. At least the EVUL QUEEEEEN looks like she's having fun and I guess the costume and setting design is.... DIFFERENT.

As for the 2nd one it does look much better. Also I'm willing to give her a 2nd chance because let's face it, Twilight is Twilight, even if everyone were godly actors it would still be a piece of shit. Also even if she's bland as shit, there is still the rest of the movie to possibly enjoy, it might not be great but it could still be entertaining.

I work at a movie theater so I'm eventually gonna end up seeing both movies whether I want to or not :/

The problem I have with the second, is also the fact that it's Kristen... Her acting leaves a lot to be desired, and frankly, she doesn't look like Snow White. I mean, they give a damn description of her! She is not it!

The second one is meant to be a comedy, so it's doing what it set out to do, which I appreciate in itself. Plus, the girl they have for Snow White there, fits the part.

I will be watching both (when they come out on DVD, not wasting good money on either at the movies), but I have a feeling I will not be able to resist cringing through the second the whole time, because they're trying to be serious, and with Kristen - they just can't be.

Snow White and Huntsmen isnt the best name for a movie in the world, but MAN does it look fantastic. I'm willing to push through Kristen to see how this movie does. I've watched the movie(s?) she made before she was in Twilight, and yeah... her acting isn't going anywhere good. The first one looks really... uh, how do you put it, 'treats its audience like they're dumb'. However the Queen looks like she'd be SO amusing to watch.

Though if I had to chose, Snow White and Huntsmen!

Sorry kite-lupine-aquila, but I feel the "she doesn't even look like her!" really shouldn't be a strike against it, especially in the face of all the other "inaccuracies", that one (how she looks) stands out the most?

Again, not saying it's going to be a great or even good movie, but the way some of you are so eager to discount it is silly. I personally prefer the GRIMDARRRRK because at least it's trying to give a different spin on it and frankly, screw accuracy.

Anyway, the humor one is pretty "meh" towards me since it doesn't look like it'll be very funny and maybe because my sense of humor is too narrow for my own good- and like LoverofPiggies mentioned, it does feel like the movie is treating it's audience like it's dumb, I also get the sneaking suspicion that the movie will not focus on the Queen all that much and her scenes (based on the trailer) look the most entertaining.

As for actresses, let's not kid ourselves, we all know we're really watching these movies to see how much of a Magnificent Bastard the Queen will be.

I just feel that her appearance is so important to the story, it's the reason the queen is jealous! It doesn't make sense otherwise.

I do agree that perhaps the best bits have been shown in the first, tis a shame...

It's true to an extent, however at least the GRIMDARK one sort of gives additional justification in that even if she's not pretty by our standards, apparently eating her heart will give the Queen immortality in-story.

I'm actually looking forward to both movies, even if my expectations aren't very high, though I'm not sure I'll actually watch them in theaters. For the eye-candy (costumes! scenery! Thor-guy! etc.) at the least, and because I have a HUGE weakness for fairytale/fantasy.
The trailer music for SWatH is cool, too.

Also, I think Kristen Stewart is very pretty *shrug* even though her acting isn't superb. Plus:

Oh, I don't think she's not pretty, I think she's very pretty, I just don't think she matches the descriptive role of Snow White, raven hair, snow-white skin and rose red lips. But yes, I like that they did the whole immortality-heart thing, it does help to smooth it over.

I would do so much drugs with Kristen Stewart and then hopefully still be functioning well enough to do nekkid things. Then I'd never see her again. All would be as it should be.

Sometimes, we stay and laugh at how horrible the movies are (especially any Twilight). Customers hate it but whateva, it's free for us

I have no strong feelings for one movie or the other.

I'd probably catch them on TV, but the theatres are really expensive these days. :/

To be perfectly honest... both of them seem terrible, I mean it probably depends what you are looking for in a movie but both seem far-fetched and somehow superficial... visually it does look nice if you go to the movies to see computer generated special effects in every frames.
