I have not played Morrowind and I've only seen videos of Arena and Daggerfall. So yea, Oblivion is the only one I've played. I do plan on getting Skyrim. After playing Oblivion and Bethesda's Fallout games, I am curious on how they gonna improve.

Also, The Elder Scrolls is the only western fantasy series I know of with cat-people as a race.

Spoiler! :
I am pleased, Amante.

Loves me some Elder Scrolls... And loves me some Argonians. Pondscum master race reporting~

Loved Morrowind, though I didn't really get into the depth of TES until playing Oblivion. I always missed Morrowind's more outlandish fantasy style, and one of the many things I love about Skyrim is how it seems to be the best of both worlds. Morrowind's fantasy and Oblivion's medieval-ness have been fused together beautifully in Skyrim. :D

I could gush about TES forever, but I'll keep it short for once.
Can't wait for 11/11/11. <3

Want, want, want Skyrim. >.<

I played the heck out of Oblivion, I need another large world to run around in. I went ahead and got the free download of Daggerfall Bethesda was offering, but it's so different I had trouble really getting into it. I did order Morrowind and that might get here tomorrow. I'm excited.

Skyrim looks good. Think I'll get it over Uncharted 3, I already have BF3 preordered so that can be my main shooter for now.. Not sure if I should get it for PC or PS3 though.. Does it look significantly better on PC like BF3 does? It would be nice to play on PS3 though, we can get that chatroom thing going again, that was a real hoot.

edit:

-shiver-

Upon googling, I've learned that the PC version of Skyrim uses GFWL.. Which is awful (so says someone on gametrailers.. Other people say it uses Steamworks). Hmm.. Then again, it's bound to look better on PC, but if I play on PS3, I have a nice big TV, a couch, and SJ friends to chat with.. What to do...

I discovered the series through Morrowind, which I bought for XBox while waiting for KotOR to be released (you remember how many times THAT was pushed back...).
I picked it up for the PC because someone mentioned the Construction Set aspect of the game and then proceeded to spend literal YEARS of my life playing it. I modded it the way some people mod their motorcycles... it never ended for me...
Of course, I played the hell out of Oblivion too - but not as much. I loved the overall story of Morrowind so much, but Oblivion's wasn't as deep in my opinion :/ Maybe Skyrim will be better? I hope so. So far, it looks it.

Defnitely can't wait!!

I love the mythology they've set up.

I wonder if players will be calling their characters the same name they've called their characters from the previous two, ya know, like some type of LoZ setup?

I've always used a Breton.

This might be worth reading.
PC versions of TES games tend to be considered the definitive versions, but it seems like Bethesda is putting more effort into keeping all three versions the same this time around.
And trust me, if Oblivion and console footage of Skyrim are any indicator, it'll still look completely fucking gorgeous on a PS3. On top of that mods tend to be the primary reason for people preferring PC versions of TES games, so it's incredible just seeing the possibility of mods in the console versions of Skyrim.

let me put in my $60
Get it for the pc!
one thing that TES has over any other series is the vast community of modders. Even once you finish (or get tired of) the main story you can go online and find a massive collection of user-made add-ons. which are not available for the other systems without mods

I would, but

1.I don't have 60 dollars
2.I don't think my poor Windows 7 could run a HD game
3.I don't like how Skyrim looks. Fuck that, I prefer Oblivion.
