DBZ Supersonic Warriors for GBA.
I'm not sure if it's obscure, but I searched on youtube and the only walkthroughswere its sequel for the DS.
Because it's 2d,the gameplay is more 'balanced' than modern ones.

Star Wars: Republic Commando. I'm dead serious here guys.

They were the only badasses of my childhood that I can remember.

Two words: Clock Tower.

I'm mainly covering the first one in the series, the SNES-game that came out in Japan only. It's a point-and-click survival horror game with a story loosely based on the movie Phenomena.

You play as a girl stuck in a mansion owned by her supposed adoptive father, and your mission is to find your friends and escape.
There are many endings (including a secret one) and the outcome depends on how much of the mansion's mystery you solve, if you manage to save any of your friends and, of course, if you even get out of there alive.
I wont spoil much, but let's just say that you and your friends aren't alone in the house. It's not called survival horror for nothing. :P Thank god for the panic-button. (Yes, such a thing exists in this game)

Image Image Image

This is one of my favourite horror games, by far, even though it gets slow at times, the fact that you rarely hear any music, only the sound of your footsteps, it surely gives the whole experience an eerie feeling. Also, you have barely no way of defending yourself except for running and find good hiding places... and the panic-button, of course. Who ever thought that 16-bit could be so scary at times? ;__;

Not to mention, the many different endings as well as the game changing, sometimes moving certain important objects or even the placement of two rooms (even small events like this happening, while most of the time, Jennifer will just mention that the water is running)...
Image
... makes the replay value even greater.

As I've mentioned, the game wasn't released outside of Japan, but there is a translated ROM online that you can find with an easy google-search.

There's also the sequel for the PS1 that WAS translated and released. It doesn't have much of the same eerie feeling as the SNES-game, but more of that cheesy slasher movie kind of feel to it.
It still has some scary moments, though, so I'd recommend it. Not too big on the other PS1-game or Clock Tower 3, though...

Tl;dr - Here's an obscure SNES-game, go play it. >:3! Make sure to read a manual about the controls, though.

2D =/= Automatically more balanced than 3D games, but yeah. Super Sonic Warriors was cool. Didn't hold my attention like Tenkaichi and RB did, but it was fun to mess around with.

Ghost Master. In the town Gravenville, a horde of ghosts are scaring the living s### out of everyone. However, a group known as the Ghost Breakers are in town to take down those ghosts! But screw those guys, WE are controlling the ghosts.

The goal of the game: Use your army of haunters to scare everyone in Gravenville out.
You have the following ghosts: An electrical monkey, a wind spirit, a rock monster, a spider who spawns thousands of other small spiders, a phsyco in a straightjacket, a poltergeist and a guy who rips his upper body in HALF. And that is just the ghosts you start with! Later, you unlock weatherwitches, banshees, skeletons...It even got a small storyline of freeing the Darkling.
Also, just about every single level name is a parody of a movie.

I can SORTA understand why almost noone knows about this game. It suffered from a low budget, witch gave it no money to advertising. Also, the game was pretty short.

Please play it. Its worth those 5 euro on Steam.

Toki is generally fun, but I find it to be one of the most annoying games I've played due to the really unforgiving difficulty.

I know this post is like, really old, but i recently played this game again.

So, in specific levels, Toki had this thing, where they'd put super awesome powers in places that you couldn't get to WITHOUT dying. You had no chance, but you didn't really need them to beat the level. The thing they did, i guess, was to test the players, teach them not to get greedy with them, i guess.

I mean, in Kirby, for example, everything's about having fun, so you never stop getting food, powers, etc. But here, the game punishes you for thinking there's a easy way around the levels. Still can't beat the game though, the last level is super-hard.
UpDatin' at least once every 42 hours! OR THE COMIC ENDS FOREVER.

Thief - Deadly Shadows (PC/Xbox)
Spoiler! :
Image

I know people have played this game, but not anyone I've ever talked to. I always get, "Oh yeah, I've heard of that game".
It was one of my favorite games for a loonnnng time. Now, playing Skyrim, the male Imperial that I play as is essentially Garrett. ... minus the blackjack... I love that Bethesda acquired not only the team behind the stealth/lighting system from Thief, but the voice actor who played Garrett as well. And how much do the Forsworn remind you of the Pagans? ?? inorite.

Legendary Axe II (TurboGrafX 16)
Spoiler! :
Image

One of the creepiest, weirdest 2D side-scrollers I've ever played. The soundtrack, in my opinion, is even better than Castlevania 3's. And the ending... so random...

Last Blade 2 (Neo Geo)
Spoiler! :
Image

I already mentioned this being one of my favorite 2D fighters somewhere on this forum. But man, how I wish more people played this one. Samurai Shodown (especially the 4th one) is a great series, but the Last Blade series was a little less... cartoon-ish?

I was super close to buying this game and it's sequel during the Steam Summer Sale. Maybe next year.
Any SJ related questions? Feel free to look around, and if you can't find an answer, make a topic here and we'll get to you as fast as we can! :D

I bought the entire series in the Steam summer sale. I wish I had bought these games earlier, judging from the first one so far these are probably by far the best stealth games I've ever played.
I haven't played too much of Deadly Shadows yet but ho boy it is NOT a PC game. Terrible PC port, there's not even mouse sensitivity and I have no clue why but I get jerky as hell controls half the time despite the framerate still being 60. Using a controller though somehow solved majority of the control issues I had, and the game itself seems fine it's just not a good port.

Isn't that the one that was like Pokemon but with little robots? I played a similar game on GBC called Robopon and always wondered if it was in the same series or just had a similar concept.
Now what might this be?

I remember this game for the N64 called silicon Valley, you played as this computer chip and you would go around controlling a dead body in-order to figure out how to get through puzzles. And hey if you thought the animal you were in was lame you could kill an animal with rockets strapped to them or jet packs and fly around and destroy things like a boss.

(I wish my N64 had not died. :( )
Never knock on deaths door, ring his bell and run away; death really hates that!

Shin Megami Tensei's 1-3. Nowadays whenever you bring up SMT, the first thing out of someone's mouth is Presona 3,4,Arena. I love Persona to death but darn it, they're not the only games!
