Quite the bummer.
His ability to interpret songs is something of a lost art. He could take a familiar song and squish it and twist into something that was new and different and sounded like no one but he could have EVER performed it. "With a Little Help From My Friends" (the Beatles), "Feelin' Alright" (Dave Mason), and "You Can Leave Your Hat On" (Randy Newman), were all given definitive treatments by this incredible artist. We are a poorer species for his passing.
Spoiler! :
He lived here in Colorado, as did Ginger Baker. Apparently the high altitude and dry climate is deadly to British musicians.
